Genre(s): Black Metal Lyrical Theme(s): Paganism, Mythology, Nature, Seasons Origin: Germany (Aachen, North Rhine-Westphalia) Formed In: 1993 Status: Split-up Last known line-up: Alexander von Meilenwald - Drums (The Ruins of Beverast, Truppensturm, Verdunkeln, Kermania, Heemat) Zorn - Guitars, Bass (Simple Existenz, EgoNoir) Zingultus - Vocals (Endstille, Graupel, Graven, Desecration) Former/Past Member(s): Smaug - Vocals Sveinn von Hackelnberg - Bass (Graupel) Jander - Vocals (Dark Embrace) Chaos - Bass Additional notes: Naglfar is, according to the Prose Edda, a ship made up of the nails of the dead (which is is also the etymological meaning of its name) which will be put at sea at Ragnarök. Nagelfar are part of the Wod-Ván community, together with The Ruins of Beverast, Graupel, Truppensturm, Kermania, Verdunkeln, Abusus, Heemat, Signum Pugnae, Desecration, Simple Existenz and EgoNoir. They have two recordings, which were spread inside the Wòd-Ván-Community exclusively: "Garzweiler II" and "Ragnaroek". The history surrounding the German band is rather vague, although it's clear that they were founded in 1993 by Zorn and Meilenwald. It took until 1995 to get a stable line-up, by addition of Hackelnberg on bass and Jander on vocals. Together they recorded 2 demos and a split EP, as well as the 2 full length albums Hünengrab Im Herbst and Srontgorrth. With the release of Srontgorrth they lost Hackelnberg and Jander. Soon Zingultus was found for vocal duties, but the band never found a bass player. On Virus West, Zorn and Meilenwald were forced to handled bass duties. To date, this release is the last official one by Nagelfar. In April 2002 the band called it quits when Zorn announced that he lacked energy and motivation to continue Nagelfar. He and Meilenwald were always in agreement that Nagelfar would only exist if both of them were active, so consequently the band was put to rest. I don't think anybody has Ragnarok and I don't even think the track lengths on metalarchives are trustworthy anyway.

From what I’m aware of ragnarok was released to friends of the band only and therefore 10 copies exist worldwide. However some of the tracks off the release were on the 2017 compilation “Alte Welten”. I’ve been patiently waiting for a copy to be sold on Discogs or for someone to upload it here but my hopes are low. If anyone does upload it I will be extremely surprised and grateful
