Забавный вышел "back to the roots". Вроде и звук снова злобный, и вокал рычабельный (Genesis Torn, Ruins Of The Future), а фолк-проговый заряд все равно явственно ощущается. Borknagar не стали размениваться на все эти дудки-сопелки, а все прогрессивные моменты сгрузили на клавишника (The Presence Is Ominous), ну и гитаристу кое-чего досталось, в том числе и в инструментальной Embers. Конечно же, вокальные партии снова не блещут простотой, использование всевозможных хоровых фишек здесь на высоте (Revolt, Colossus), так что можно смело сказать, что музыканты вернулись к отправной точке, разве что не по кругу, а по спирали, с явным развитием. Как говорится, сплошной sehr gut!
