Средненький альбомчик. Если хочется кровавого мочилова, то лучше взять каннибалов, а если больше по душе брутал-дэт с интересными мелодиями - возьмите лучше Morbid Angel. А "Black Seeds Of Vengeance" - ни то ни сё. 6/10

Незаслуженно обруганный альбом. Пожалуй, чуть ли не самый египетский в части атмосферы, имхо - завораживает от начала до конца на все время звучания.

В 2000-м в тематических журналах старательно нахваливали этот альбом, и я повелся, купил CD)) Cтал слушать и услышал очень резвый брутальчик, не особо мясистый. Сплошное скоростное долбилово, не продохнуть. И еще эмбиентные интерлюдии. Я как-то привык немного к другому brutal-death, но понравилось. Эффект почти гипнотический - альбом пролетает мимо очень быстро, не успеваешь оглянуться, не успеваешь распробовать. Врубаешь по-новой, и опять такой же эффект. Прокручиваешь пяток раз - не надоедает. В итоге что сказать, изумительная вещь.

Черные Семена Мести - второй полноформатный альбом Nile, окончательно сформировавший их фирменный саунд и закрепивший за группой статус одного из лидеров дэтовой сцены. При этом состав пополнился ещё одним гитаристом/вокалистом - Dallas Toler-Wade. Важность этого лысого (хотя на тот момент ещё хаератого) чувака для группы сложно переоценить: они с Карлом вдвоём нехило подняли гитарную технику, также Даллас будет принимать активное участие в сочинении материала. Оригинальный драммер коллектива Pete Hammoura ещё числится в составе, но по факту записал ударные только для 9-минутного эпика To Dream of Ur, остальную же работу выполнил сессионщик. Причем не кто-нибудь, а легендарный (хотя в 2000-м году ещё, возможно, не настолько) Derek Roddy. А вообще список сессионщиков выглядит ещё внушительнее, чем на дебюте, ибо экзотические инструменты и вспомогательные вокалы довольно плотно используются и здесь.

Короткое восточное интро... И на нас обрушивается песчаная буря! Тонны песка закрывают солнце, а от песчинок, попавших в ноздри, веет затхлым запахом древних склепов. Сокрушительные риффы, скорость и напор Black Seeds of Vengeance плавно перетекают в более эпичную, с гонгами и распевами (но также тяжелую и напористую) Defiling the Gates of Ishtar. Вообще весь альбом скомпонован таким образом, что переходы между треками весьма условны, и все 43 минуты являют собой что-то вроде единой брутальной египетской симфонии. Но всё же несколько наиболее убийственных треков я не могу не выделить: потрясающей силы и красоты рифф в The Black Flame; крышесносная Nas Akhu Khan she en Asbiu, в которой египетские мотивы вплетены прямо в гитарные риффы; уже упомянутый сложноструктурный трек To Dream of Ur, сосредоточение эпичной эпичности; забойная (но при этом насыщенная и совершенно непредсказуемая в своём развитии) Masturbating the War God. Завершающие две композиции альбома вообще неметалические: предпоследняя - восточные песнопения, закрывашка - мантра, исполняемая гроулом под ритуальные барабаны.

11/12 - бомба! Явление в мировой экстремальной музыке. А учитывая, что в этом году работе исполняется 20 лет, то уже и классика.
