Записанный в сентябре 1990-го года, мини-альбом Human Waste является первым официальным релизом выдающегося нью-йоркского дэт-металла-коллектива Suffocation. (Ещё была демка Reincremated, но она так и осталась в статусе демо.) Несмотря на тот факт, что 5 из 6-ти треков с Human Waste (в оригинальном варианте мини-альбома их было именно 6) позднее были реализованны на полноформатных альбомах группы (3 - на Effigy of the Forgotten, 1 - на Pierced from Within и 1 - на Despise the Sun), а эксклюзивом данного релиза оказалась лишь одна вещь - композиция Human Waste, - тем не менее, на мой взгляд, по факту это очень значимый, самоценный и мощный мини-альбом. Материал Human Waste - очень техничный брутал (считаю, говоря здесь о техничности, можно и нужно употреблять превосходную степень) с размеренным темпом, шикарно-ритмичный и с наличием соответствующего брутального гроулинга. Нередко эта впечатляющая размеренная техничность срывается в симпатичные убыстрения (иногда, как в заключительном треке, просто в скачки), напичканные вкусными ударными и атмосферой контролируемой мясорубки, плюс эти короткие "шизофренические" соло - всё выглядит очень здорово! Что меня больше всего радует в Human Waste, так это полное отсутствие брутал-хаоса, а между тем брутальная тяжесть вполне на месте. Ну и техника... для себя лично я трактую данный материал Suffocation, как брутальный техно-дэт, то есть вижу основой музыки мини-альбома именно техничность, а не брутальность - уж не знаю, насколько это правильно. Всё очень ровно, всё очень клёво. Мои фавориты, тем не менее - Catatonia и Human Waste. Классика! 9/10

Фаффо в 1991 и Фаффо в 2023 это вам не это. Фактически две разные группы, хотя некоторая преемственность подходов слышна и 30+ лет спустя. Стержень музыки не растерялся, хоть и качественно изменилась работа со звуком. По сути, они являются одной из тех групп, выпустивших на заре своей карьеры знаковый альбом, так и остались верны выбранному амплуа. Их можно перепутать разве что с многочисленными подражателями.

HW крутой миник, в принципе, душа Suffocation заточена в нем.
