Original composer, vocalist and guitarist El Cochino (Martin Schirenc) has once again beaten the odds by re-animating the filthy kings of odor, and is joined by his henchmen Danny Vacuum (Genocide SS, The Accidents) on bass & vocals and
Mike G. Mayhem (Hollenthon) on drums.

Due to possible legal bullshit regarding the use of the name ”Pungent Stench”, the re-born triumvirate from Vienna/Austria will perform all future shows under the banner: ”THE CHURCH OF PUNGENT STENCH’

Fans will finally get what they’re asking for, throughout the years: An old school set list including some rare and even never played before material, such as tracks from the 1989 split LP with Disharmonic Orchestra, as well as classic smash hits from their first three albums!

The band is highly motivated and will play its first official show on Friday, 13th December 2013 at the Eindhoven Metal Meeting in The Netherlands. That day, THE CHURCH OF PUNGENT STENCH will perform together with other highly appreciated artistes such as Napalm Death, Brutal Truth, Vomitory , Watain, Belphegor, Tiamat and Carpathian Forest.

Новый альбом готов! Записан, сведен, сведен и доработан, прошел мастеринг, улучшен, опять прошел мастеринг и все готово!

Уже пару недель он у нас на руках и позвольте мне просто сказать, что он ХОРОШ. Мы крутили его буквально на всем, начиная со студийных мониторов до наушников для ipod'a, в машине и на здоровых клубных системах и я просто не мог бы желать более прекрасного результата. Он просто грандиозный! Янне Сакса и Сванте Форбек вновь проделали прекрасную работу по сведению и мастерингу. С нетерпением жду, когда все вы сможете его услышать и скажете, что вы об этом думаете.

Сейчас мы работаем... ну, по сути над всем тем, что нужно сделать после того, как музыка готова. Обложка почти готова, и судя по тому, что я видел, она просто замечательная! Наш друг Аки Силтала сейчас занимается её доводкой. Он сделал для нас обложки для "Decrowning" и "Reptile Ride", а также легендарный логотип Amoral с черепом, так что здорово, что он опять с нами.

Есть и еще кое-что, чем мы заняты в ожидании того, пока утрясутся все деловые вопросы и формальности лейбла: поиск места и мозговой штурм идей насчет будущего фотосета с Вальтери "Wally Balls" Хирвонен, обсуждения того, какие из песен включать в будущий сет-лист (сейчас у нас уже шесть альбомов и это сделать все сложнее и сложнее) и потом активное их разучивание (как новых, которые совсем непросты для исполнения, так и старых, которые мы давно не играли.

Пока у нас нет окончательной даты релиза, но мы рассчитываем, что все будет выпущено до конца года. Обещаю, что скоро мы выложим что-то из новенького, так что ждите и следите за новостями!

Finnish death metal quartet CONVULSE are commonly known as one of the most classic bands from the first wave of Finnish death metal, with the debut album World Without God being one of the most collectible items of the era. But this past January's comeback EP Inner Evil, recorded after an 18-year break, proved that the group can still cut it.

Led by guitarist and growler Rami Jдmsд with original bass player Juha Telenius and newer recruits Kristian Kangasniemi (guitar) and Rolle Markos (drums), CONVULSE spent the whole of August locked away in an old-fashioned analog studio, recording what was to become Evil Prevails. Rami Jдmsд describes the album as a "fascinating combination of old-school death metal, lightning-fast thrashing parts, some blastbeats here and there, and even ultra-slow doom elements. The CONVULSE of the year 2013 is heavier and meaner than ever before. This album is a rebirth as much as it is continuation of the old-school spirit. "

Finland's foremost vinyl peddlers SVART RECORDS will release the album on November 1st on CD, gatefold LP, and digitally as well. The album cover is a striking new painting by Luxi Lahtinen, the man responsible for many a memorable piece of art in the early '90s death metal scene. Having just played large genre festivals such as Maryland Deathfest and Killtown Deathfest, CONVULSE are gearing up for more live appearances, of which there will be more news published in the coming weeks.

Swedish death metal band Necrophobic released the first single from their forthcoming album, Womb of Lilithu, yesterday. But when the album comes out on October 29th (October 25th in the rest of the world), don’t expect vocalist Tobias Sidegard to be touring in support of it. That’s because the frontman is currently in prison, having been sentenced to 18 months for abusing his wife and children.
In Swedish court documents and police reports obtained by Metal Insider, Sidegard’s wife Linda was interviewed by police describing incidents in which she was beaten by him multiple times and forced into oral sex with him. He also was charged with abuse for beating his daughters Tindra and Nova with a homemade bullwhip. There are other allegations against Sidegard in the court documents. Tindra claimed that when she was younger, her father would lock her and her mother in their room during the day while he slept.
