Было предчувствие, что не понравится. Смущали некоторые оч. восторженные отзывы (IMG:style_emoticons/default/hmm.gif) Ну так и есть; прогнал раз, второй, третий... Бодренько, качественно, мелодично и довольно приятно слушается (правда, пока только первый раз)... учитывая, что до этого кроме 2-х песен Мегадэт вообще не слушал - приятно удивлен мелодикой, исполением и качеством материала... (хотя у группы с таким именем другого и быть не должно, имхо)... =)

Очень радует, что Мустейн прекратил заигрывания с широкими массами и выпустил (в отличие от широко разрекламированного псевдо-олдскульного "Death magnetic" Металлики) по-настоящему трэшевый альбом. Порадовал, чего уж там!

Повторю незаданный вопрос: «Каким образом смерть Бертона повлияла на отношение к творчеству Мегадета?»

Много думав после смерти Бертона вы пришли к выводу, что недооценивали Мегадет?

В моем понимании и Клифф и Мустейн влияли на творчество Металлики, но Металлика никоим образом не влияла на творчество Мегадета (кроме еще нескольких, из не указанных вами, схожестей в песнях, многие из которых в исполнении Мегадета выходили позже аналогов в Металлике — жамк)

Для меня Металлика и Мегадет — Кока-Кола и Пепси в музыке.

"Endgame" surprised me a lot - though I love the band, recently I think we got the tendency of "cycling" in one place as it comes to their albums (completely on a musical level), but I don't think someone is in the position of blaming them, for they've been on stage for more than 25 years or so and they're still outdoing some great percentage of their contemporary colleagues. However, two years ago I had a serious crush on "United Abominations", which sounded like some nice little piece of fresh air and renewed ideas on their behalf. A great album indeed... That's why I was hoping to hear something in the same spirit in "Endgame" too - well, by far I didn't. It sounds strangely oldschool, there's that "dirty" face in the melodies and all guitar work in the album which I was really starting to miss. Honestly, ever since the release of "Rust In Peace" I haven't heard Mustaine sound so inspired, enegretic, call it whatever you wish - that goes both for riffing and vocal work. Still the whole "Endgame" album is written in the vein of the "late" Megadeth musical period, and I really enjoyed that great balance they went for! As for the songs, well they put so much of themselves there, which in the end justifies my own reason for posting this.

The short instrumental introduction "Dialectic Chaos" is the perfect opener for the smashing tone of "This Day We Fight!", which easily became one of my favorites from the whole record. Other highlights for me are "44 Minutes" with the familiar Megadeth-ish slow-down tempo and guitar basic structures, while the self-titled composition "Endgame" won me over with the self ironic lyrical spirit (and the overall amazing melody!) which can be easily heard in Dave's voice, going all the way through the concept of the song. "Head Crusher" is the typical straight-in-the-face track, created with the only purpose to make you go completely crazy while listening to this masterfully brutal guitar work; The final chords of "The Right To Go Insane" turn into a semi-melodic theme frame which connects perfectly with both previous songs and the first few tracks of the CD, leaving the listener with that good ol' feeling of wanting to play the whole thing over and over, and over again... Nevertheless, if I can distinguish even one particular song among all the others, that'll be "The Hardest Part Of Letting Go... Sealed With A Kiss" - all those energetic riffs, the march-like beats and mostly that angry and violent behaviour of Dave's what this album is all about... That is, coming from the minds of all these skilled musicians and meant to go straight into the hearts of their fans. They got me with this one, that's for sure.

Не могу забыть высказывание Мастейна насчёт Rotting Christ и Dissection...
Он, мудах, отказался с ними выступать потому что они, оказаца, сатанические...

кое-что, конечно, сомнению не подвергнешь - FFF/Motorbreath или Mechanix/The Four Horsemen (хотя это просто одна песня в разном исполнении), но! практически всё остальное притянуто за уши. И да, opening riff в When - он из Am I Evil, но никак не из Ктулу, соответственно, учитывая, что это песня написана совершенно другими людьми... )))

Это был какой то фестиваль, кажеццо в Израиле. Там много всякого разного было, как обычно на фестах и бывает.
Разборчивость и нетерпимость Мастейна мне непонятна. Мож это такая PR-фишка была? Для кого вот только? Для церкви?
Сам он не образчик благочестия и добродетели. И в своё время группа подвергалась нападкам религиозных организаций и обвинениям (необоснованным канечно!) в том же сатанизме. Сломали значит Дэйва?!

Впрочем не по теме всё это..... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/bang.gif)
