Is that a Vinyl rip or does the CD production really sound that thin?
I mean the music is pretty damn awesome but it doesn't sound right, you know.

The music is pretty damn uninspired and boring. And you are right, the sound is quite strange: guitars are sounding really thin and the vocals are too high in the mix.

I think the vocals is a perfect match for the music. At first I tought I was listening to an unreleased 80's record of Metal Church but I see what you mean - the vocals are indeed too much in front and above the instruments. The songs would be more remarkable if the production wouldn't be so out of place (or maybe it's just a bad rip)...
I'd love to give this record a few more spins but I can hardly get myself to do so due to the overall sound of the album.

Can one confirm this is a CD-rip or what's the original source?

Is it me or "Midnight" from Youtube sounds a lot better as far as production is concerned? And it's a pity that Bob Mitchell left Attacker.

No, you are right. That's how it's supposed to sound.
Really curious where and what source this comes from because it's impossible the CD is really that messed up.

Listen to the 320kbps rip of "Steryle - Endless Winter" and the v0 rip of "Where There's A Will - Machine Minds". Although the spectral analysis indicates it's proper rips, they sound like recorded with a microphone in front of PC speakers, very similar to this rip.

Put out as scene release today ( Sleepy_Hollow-Skull_13-2012-RTB ). The sound quality is the same as with the rip here so, that proves this rip is real and it's how the CD actual sounds... wow, that's pretty poor.
