FIRST Razor's works was not in death or thrash metal style - they played speed metal at the beginning of their career, then thrash metal elements based on the same speed metal appeared in their music

That first mini album was heavy metal, mostly like Motorhead, with a couple faster Metallica type tracks,
then they totally went the Slayer route as Dave Carlo worshipped Slayer,
and back in 1984, Slayer, Dark Angel, etc., were under different labels in magazines/fanzines- black metal,death metal, hardcore metal, as the term "thrash metal" was not really in use too much until 1985...
so if another band is copying Slayer at that same time...
