Extended info
Line - up:
Patrick Schroeder - Drums, Percussion (Beyondition, Klabautamann (live), ex-Slon, ex-Tortur, ex-Kosmos Wald, Monty Battles, Pines, ex-Centaurus-A, ex-Valborg, ex-Aardvarks (live), ex-Island, ex-Syre)
Christian Kolf - Vocals, Guitars, Bass, Keyboards (Absolutum, Labyrinth of Stars, Valborg, ex-Island, ex-Slon, ex-Woburn House, ex-Kosmos Wald, Asses, Gruenewald, ex-Centaurus-A, ex-Klabautamann (live), ex-Skarab, ex-Orbo)
This has to be the most misleadingly titled release in the TDW catalog yet, because 'Ghosts of Summer' is absolutely Owl's most extreme material to date.
What may sound as a platitude of PR speech at face value should, at the very least, make the ears of Christian Kolf connoisseurs perk up. Those familiar with Owl should know that the band's qualities don't simply always lie in the extremes.
But 'Ghosts of Summer' takes Owl's signature, epic grandness and injects it with the velocity of Christian's Sci-Fi Death Metal project Labyrinth of Stars. And the result is something truly astonishing.
We're celebrating the release with a cassette tape that is limited to only 33 copies in the US, with 33 more copies in Europe, split between Owl and The Crawling Chaos Records.
For fans of: Labyrinth of Stars, Aeviterne, Nightmarer
