This is the best release of the band from Holland fronted by an English singer. Superb European progressive metal with some influences from power metal topped by Parry's magnificent vocals.

If you like Parry's style of singing and if you like his works overall then you'll see that Forbidden Fruit is the best effort of the singer up to date

Though the following release is also very strong, I consider Forbidden Fruit to be the absolute height of this great band.



Отличнейший альбом голландской группы, у которой действительно есть своё собственное лицо и стиль.
Категорично советую всем любителям европейского прогрессивного металла с небольшими уходами в павер. Этот альбом - лучшее, что данная группа когда-либо произвела на свет.

Жаль, что коллектив распался (вернее будет сказать, находится в подвешенном состоянии). Заставить бы Яна Пэрри реанимировать работы над новым альбомом этой отличной команды!

Соглашусь, что Forbidden Fruit – лучший альбом в неровной дискографии Элегии. Явные кивки в сторону классического музыкального наследия (Force Majeure, 'Til Eternity, Elegant Solution), сложнопостроенные композиции, напоминающие о лучших работах асов арт-рока 70-х (Behind the Tears, The Great Charade, Masquerade), отличные инструментальные и вокальные партии, и полное отсутствие «коммерческих» поползновений. До сих пор слушаю этот диск с большим удовольствием.
