lossless rip
No, it's either lossless (FLAC, WavPack, Monkey's Audio [
APE], [
uncompressed] PCM Wave, etc.) or it is a lossy rip such as (CBR) MP3 ~ 320 kbps.
Got it?EncSpot reports "
Unwise settings" I guess it would be the usage of "
-k" switch apart from "
-ms" switch in the command line.
The "
-k" switch is insane because even 320 kbps is too low bitrate to comprise full frequency spectrum. This switch was removed from the
table for a reason!
add Full Stereo: In case of 320 kbps CBR MP3 it is 160 kbps for each channel. If there are sections that are the same (so it is practically mono)
-ms switch encodes two times the same 160 kbps and that is a waste of such bitrate. The "
-ms" switch = (simple / full) stereo is always worse than (Lame safe) joint stereo!
That is why we have
recommended Lame encoder settings.
