Old-school Brazilian black/death metal; this harks back to the days when the Brazilian and Greek scenes sounded very similar – see Mystifier. Rites of the Ancient Cults sounds a bit like Varathron circa His Majesty at the Swamp, it’s the same brand of riffing genius. Something I can never get enough of, especially now the big Greek black metal bands have modernized their composition by incorporating faster, more Nordic-sounding parts (praise the dark lord for Ithaqua and Caedes Cruenta!).
