The band's own tags on their/ his BandCamp page include "metal, avant-garde metal, clean vocals, doom metal, extreme vocal, progressive metal, Riga" but not (progressive) "groove/ thrash metal" as Metal Archives classifies the band as.

In this regard, I guess Metal Archives has probably focused on a few tracks on 'Tribute to Fallen Hearts,' the first album (listened to it on Spotify. Anyone with it, though?).
I hear some bursts of groove on some tracks on both albums (more so on the first), but find it hard to see either is dominantly a "groove/ thrash metal" release.

In contrast, there are quite a few Avant-garde elements throughout both albums (well, if I'm not mistaken).

Overall, sounds like a promising release with a great future ahead (although, personally, the vocals take some time to get used to).

(I avoid participating in genre-related discussions because they tend to be fairly subjective, but this time, Metal Archives seems a bit off without doing its investigative work.)

... include what the artist(s) wanted to create plus some extra for better search relevance, metal-archives on the other hand states genres that are actually present in the artwork in a significant quantity.

But they often define the genre based on the first demo or album. If the next one is diferent, they don't change the genre on the spot.

P.S. I couldn't listen to the single full song - so it coul'd be Avant-Groove smile3.gif

They state two genres for earlier and later stages, or just correct the genre eventually.
This release though is a niche subgenre of Experimental Metal called A Nerd And A Computer, imho.
