This was the first Fellwinter release, paying homage to 90's Black Metal acts, such as Kataxu and Osculum Infame, with droning freezing riffs lead by excellent ominous synthwork. A side project of the man behind the equally shadowy project, Gauntlet Ring.
Witchsword, by the person behind Grim Spectre, on the other hand has a different approach, more akin to 10's Raw Black Metal. Featuring absolutely blown out programmed drumming, evil vocals soaked in agonizing effects and stygian, feral riffing style definitely reminiscing early Orgy of Carrion, Torpefied Bloodlust and Total Genocide.
