Extended info
Strange late 90s/early '00s black metal from Germany, with elements of post punk, industrial, proto-DSBM, and more. Combines both of the project's albums ("Secrets of Wahrendorff / Schaebtums Grächtnis" (1999) and "Kohlrabenweißmetallicsilbermelierte..." (2002) on a triple LP with trifold sleeve.

Secrets of Wahrendorff / Schaebtums Grächtnis (Album 1999)
Excellent sorrowful Black/Doom Metal, with strong influences form Gothic Metal and genres like Post-Punk and Industrial.
Some tracks definitely feel somewhat like a precursor to the DSBM sound, following along the footsteps of Strid and Bethlehem with an incredibly desolate, dark sound, but with no disregard to songwriting. Some other tracks are not as heavy in the nostalgia, with a heavier approach, and incredible and rather unique guitar work, where I'd say this album shines the most, in tracks like "Black Hate Deathbringer of Dark Evil and War" or "Gandalf - Thy Mighty Penés"
Kohlrabenweißmetallicsilbermelierte, gescheckte schwarze Pferde (Album 2002)
Another brilliant album from this criminally overlooked project, a band that should definitely be seen as proto-DSBM, following along the lines of Strid and, especially Bethlehem, but even more akin to what the genre would become. The follow up to their brilliant debut, "Secrets of Wahrendorff / Schaebtums Grächtnis", Ardulph Ardebahr Wald follows here a similar path, continuing with their unique songwriting style and riffing style, often incorporating outsider elements and with very interesting progressions, but here even more into Gothic elements, not too unlike later Katatonia material, or post-'94 Asaradel. The band also shows a huge influence from Post-Punk, creating some moments that really reminisce of Circle of Ouroborus.
Absolutely stellar depressive Black/Doom Metal, creating a truly unsettling and psychotic atmosphere, emanated from the darkest corners of the psyche, without however sacrificing the songwriting, and experimental spirit, something which in a way also reminds me a lot of early Brulvahnatu demos.
