Do you want power metal with a dark touch? Then you are on the right address at „Mindcrime“ from Germany, the guys play simple glorious fresh dark melodic power metal on their current longplayer „Strandead“. What do you understand exactly under this even-running style? Liquid fast riffs, solos like „Blind Guardian“ coupled with a pinch of „Sentenced“ and even here and there a little bit „In Flames“. „Mindcrime“ hit exactly my taste, the melodies are just awesome and here the mixture makes it simple. After the intro the silverling get opened through the heroic „Soil for Growing“, power metal fans can please themself. The first dark parts come in the game at „Lines in the Sand“, which only complete themself fantastic. „Forsaken Smile“ punches full in the face, here you hear out „In Flames“ influences, already the hacking drums are almost black metal similar and the refrain is excellent too. Now, the darker elements prevail, „Subdivided“ is thrashhard too and „Christopher Weller“ and „Mario Junker“ complete themself perfect for gore and clean vocals. What yet should I say, killer song in killer song orders here, ten tracks from the finest. Who likes power metal, but tends to dark metal in kind of „Sentenced“ or „Melodic Death“ too, who will have his pleasure here. Well, the songs are too less hard for melodic death, sometimes this singingparts remind me very to this genre. Too less hard? Well, if you listen self to „Final Stage“, you will not say that, here the gas pedal get pressed tidy, killer tune!! The Germans even put a „Faith no More“ cover with „Digging the Grave“ on the tray, this even rises above the original in my eyes yet. „Strandead“ is an absolute purchase tip, the second album of „Mindcrime“ is incredible strong and now it wonders nobody anymore why the guys were on tour with bands like „Morgana Lefay“ or „Crematory“.
