Motherstone was formed in Rome in 2003 with the intention of unleash some good slabs of metal music. A couple of years later the band released a live recorded demo entitled "Just a Little Dose" and, a few months later, JJ, Ivano and Rik decided to welcome Dani Hell in the band.
In early 2006, the four guys hit the Temple of Noise studios to record a four tracks EP with Eliana Volpe on vocals and Christian "Sventrakul" Ice on the mixer; "Through the Paths of Insanity" brought the band to an intense live activity through the italian stages, got a lot of positive reviews on domestic and international media and led the band to shoot the title-track's videoclip directed by Riccardo Frediani. In late 2007 the band noticed and hired Vale on clean vocals to finally reach a stable, profitable and ultimate line-up. In 2008 Motherstone entered again the Temple of Noise studios to record its first full length album; "Biolence", released in June, is a thirteen tracks concept album about the most sad, morbid and famous crimes of the Italian last decades' history. Someone Sitting By You's videoclip, directed by Paolo Marchione, hit some media and is still rotating on Italian's TV music channels. After headlining some shows, performing in some festivals and opening acts of bands such as Infernal Poetry, Dark Lunacy and Exilia, Biolence's promotion has ended in spring 2009 with a European Tour supporting former Iron Maiden's frontman Blaze Bayley.In the next months Motherstone got stuck in their own studio to write, compose and arrange a new release; "Terror Is Over", the last chapter of the trilogy albums about insanity, out in late 2010, is a ten thrilling tracks release which marks an evolution in the band's style and sounds. Pure heavy metal riffed verses and hyper melodic choruses mixed up with neck-breaking headbangable rhythms and face-kicking bridges and breakdowns let Motherstone think that "Terror is Over" is their most personal release. Although inspired such by metal gods as Metallica, Pantera, Slipknot and Machine Head as by modern melodic rock stars like Alter Bridge and Foo Fighters, Motherstone has developed its own style through the years and is nowadays ready to hit the stages again before releasing something new.
