Not sure if this has been posted about here already, I can't read all this Russian my friends, so anyway, if it has, then here the english version of a recouring problem with Metallica and the corporate take on what Metal should be.

Metallica and just how fucked up and self centered they have become. 

I mean they showed up in a suit and tie to accept their place in the The 2009 (Corporate) Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction. In a fucking SUIT & TIE.. wtf has that got to do with FUCKING METAL!!!!!! 

Like that means anything anyways, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is a corporate representation of how much shit they sell, it has no real bearing on the quality of a band or their music. 

How many other real Thrash bands do it better then Metallica, well then you can pick from thousands of them (Kreator, Slayer, Exodus, Testament, Pestilence, the list is endless, fucking endless).

Only reason they are there is because multi million dollar production deals, video clips and marketing saturation campaigns sell their shit music by the bucket load. All it means is; Look how much money they made for us, let's put them in The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and make even more money from the hype!

Boycott these arseholes, have any of you heard what they have been up to lately? (Their hiding behind the Record company this time, they don't want the fanbase blowback they got last time they opened their greedy mouths, remember, they all had their dicks in Sheryl Crow's arse at the time, something to do with Napster).

I traded bootlegs for Metallica, spread their sound on coutless tape trading groups, (All by land-mail at my fucking expense!) made them new fans, that them bought their Kill ' Em All, Ride the Lighting, Master Of Puppets... LP's, cassettes and T-Shirts, all this was BEFORE the fucking internet.

Fuck, as soon as they got on a major label Ulrich declares Metallica will never write another Thrash song again!? wtf?!

But the only reason you got on a major label was because of the Thrash, wtf are you saying?

It's all been downhill for the old school fans since then and a big fat gravy train for Metallica. They are each multi millionaires very, very rich people.

But.. but... they do charity work...... Really?   Bet I do more fucking charity work by simply beign kind to my neigbours, not giving my money to corporations and not supporting ANY war and their lies and respecting my natural enviroment!

FUCK YOU METALLICA rot in fucking hell! You are mere prostitutes and your record company is your pimp. You are in a position to effect change, to do something like Radiohead but you don't you continue to follow the corporate line and actively fuck your fans up. You are sick and lazy. If you really cared about your fans and were really worried about the whole situation, you would look for an alternative solution, but you are not are you.

Lastly, fuck you RapidShare, fuck you well and truly, you increase your prices, you limit our quotas and now you are passing our private information onto these fucking parasites, to cover your own multi million dollar arse.


So at the end of the day what does this all mean to us;

It means, be carefull you don't go uploading big name bands with big fat record company deals onto RapidShare... you might get your arse burned.

Why don't you just write these guys off? Their lust for profit is the same old song already.

The more you share the bigger they become. No matter how you look it, the more their music gets shared they bigger and bigger they become, sharing does not effect CD sales and in fact increases concert sales.

The only way to send them a message is by NOT playing their shit anywere, so when they turn on the radio Metallica is no were to be heard. I guarantee you if that happend they would give away their next album for free, desperate to get attention.

If you use the terminology of stealing, you are giving Mr Ulrich & gang a blank cheque to continue with their deceptive ways.

I have written them off, a long time ago, I don't have a single Metallica song on any of my HDD or in my LP/CD/DVD collection, not a single one, threw them out in protest circa the Napster debacle. I'm old school when I draw a line in the sand, come hell or high water, I ain't gonna move.

yeah Slayer put them on in a video to make a point (To do with the context of the song/video, i'm assuming as i have not seen the video in question). Metallica accepted the rock & Roll hall of fame thing in a suit, BIG difference. Instead of beign 'normal' and true to their so called 'metal' roots they dressed like yuppie lawers.

You have to understand Metal in general has ALWAYS being against the suit, it is a defining element of the genre. In fact of Rock & Roll as a whole always makes a big fuss about non-conformity.

I'm not sure how's it called - that Slayer video. I think something like God Hates Us All or whatever. Certainly from one of their latest albums. They use suits to maintain contrast: now they're playing in their suits and then suddenly they all become drenched in blood. And then suits again I can't remember the name 'cos I saw it on TV and I didn't get it right from the start.

Unfortunately, Metallica's popularity is irreversible right now. Currently the band's media personality is at it's peak and they gladly reap the attention they (frankly speaking) do not deserve. Whatever you do - whatever WE do as the minority, the adepts of underground metal subculture - nothing will change in relation to metallica 'cos the guys are already tied with bigger audience and with huge money.
But I'm eager to see what these guys will become in 10-15 years. That's when their judgement days will start. See: the band is already on the verge of conflict as they know each other for ages and definitely only profit makes them stick together. I personally read countless times in different interviews that they are sick and tired of each other and don't socialize together even after shows. When the popularity will start to fade they'll play countless shows in less-developed countries like Russia and CIS-states, they will look past internet piracy as well. It's natural process, it always happens with once glorious bands
