UNBENIGN started nearly 3 years ago out of a desire to create Black Metal that incorporates the strength and magic of classic Black Metal from the early nineties and turning it into a lethal assault appropriate for this fucked up world today. The musicians believe that they succeeded! Unbenign consists of 3 seasoned musicians who gained lots of experience in extreme metal over the past decades in bands such as Prostitute Disfigurement, Centurian and Nox. Unbenign is rounded out by the invaluable assistance of Michiel van der Plicht (Carach Angren, Pestilence, ex-God Dethroned), who plays session drums and handles recording, mixing & mastering. Unbenign is a growing dark force, showing Black Metal fans around the globe that there is no place for mediocrity.
Musically and lyrically UNBENIGN draws inspiration mostly from the second wave of Black Metal as band feel this was the most exiting and creative period for Black Metal. Unlike the hipster shit of today. Instead of following trends, band focused on creating ferocious, in your face Black Metal with, ice cold screeching vocals (by Kut), a pounding bass (by Nare Man), fast drums (Michiel van der Plicht) and aggressive layered guitars (by Ravok). With occasional room for atmospheric parts and solos guys serve up a varied piece of killer Black. Personally, Unbenign is channeling their frustrations caused by modern-day society.
