The band took their name from a movie called Last Action Hero, where Arnold Schwarzenegger character's name is Jack Slater.
Robert Nowak was considered a "long term" session member, in 2010 it was announced he was leaving the group, but he will help the band out from time to time with some (but not all) live shows.
