Yeah, more like an offshoot than a side project, I guess. I just couldn't find a better way to explain the boys going off + making an album without Malka smile4.gif

I don't know about the whole scene, as most of the stuff I know is pretty old now, but I like all the kooky stuff: Carmella Gross and Wagner, Duralex Sedlex, whatever I've posted here... There was some pretty powerful music out there in the '90s smile1.gif
Gal
Haha nice, CGW I liked them a lot, Duralex are fucking bunch of crazies 15.gif
Do you listen to Yossi Elephant ?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M9gmEBD34PM
this is his biggest (only, and english version) hit in a band called Rhetoric Band, but his solos were great too, he died in 91' before he ever published anything serious, but compilations were made, if you don't know him and you like what you hear, I would love to send you his material

Here's the documentary about Minimal Compact, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V6MoN08GVg0...t=1&index=3
very interesting, but I'm not sure if there is english translation when they speak hebrew
Sjelekval
I think I've actually heard of Elephant, but I've never heard any of his music. This is pretty good; he has a very distinctive voice smile1.gif

OMG, thank you so much for the documentary link, it's fantastic. + there are subtitles, so I didn't have to try too hard smile4.gif Fortis with hair singing stuff from Plonter.... lol. I don't think I've ever heard any of these guys speak; his voice sounds so different... He sounds demented when he sings.
Gal
Well Elephant has many different songs, so you should check him more up if you liked it, and yeah, he's not realy good vocalist, but he is a fantastic guitar player and creator

Yeah, Fortis with hair is pretty funny, he's a crazy genius in my eyes, he is absolutly one of my favorite musicians.. do you know all of his work ? Cause in each and every album he create a uniqe new stuff
Sjelekval
Hehe, I seriously doubt I know all his work... All I know is Plonter, this album + Sipoorim Mehakufsa (gah, translit!). + he seems to be quite a prolific musician, so there's no doubt decades of material I've never heard.
+ yeah, I'm with you on both the crazy + the genius smile4.gif I should probably find some more recent material; all I know if '80s-'90s stuff, I haven't had a clue as to what's going on on the Israeli fringe for years 11.gif . Even the stuff I listen to now I'm sort of rediscovering after years of neglect.
Gal
Sipurim Me'hakufsa means Stories from the Box, this album can be called "side project" of berry and fortis, it's all songs they wrote in minimal tours (main song about the tours is liepzig barcelona) and the other are things they saw in the tv (the box) and stuff, expect for Ba'avir (In the air) which speaks about heroin...

In the 90's Fortis got a new band called The Fortis Brothers, creating two albums influ. by grunge/alternative, before that he did one solo album in the vein of 1900? and Sipurim.. a collobration with Shlomi Bracha, another album with berry but in englsih Foreign Affair
In the 2000 years he made Semi Autumatic album. more matur stuff, re-united with berry doing very succesful album (unlike the other albums I wrote who didn't got much attraction, beside a hit or two in evrey album), and last year he made a triple album
All of these are amazing stuff.. if you have soulseek I can send you it all smile1.gif
Sjelekval

Wow, cool smile1.gif I've found a few pieces on Vasiliska, but a lot of the more recent stuff is not on there.
My nick on slsk is Sinnssykdom, give me a shout, I'll add you smile1.gif You know, they keep coming up with new SoulSeek clients all the time, but they still haven't come up with one that supports all languages smile2.gif I can't search in Hebrew or Russian coz even if I copy + paste it ends up as question marks on the screen smile2.gif I've even thought of going into Israel Punk room + ask if anyone can send me stuff, but I don't wanna look like I'm leeching. Especially seeing all my Hebrew stuff won't index...
At least getting Russian music is not a probelm, thanks to metalarea banana.gif
