Additional notes:
Katatonia (Catatonia) is a psychiatric condition often associated with schizophrenia. It is characterized by a general absence of motor activity or violent, hyperactive behavior. The word "catatonia" (κατατονία) is also a Greek word for low tone, under tone or commonly down-tempo.
The band's official autobiography, from the very beginning up to "Night Is the New Day", was available as the tour program, during the "Last Fair Day Gone Night" tour. It was written by Anders Nyström, Jonas Renkse and Daniel Liljekvist, and includes a photo collage.
In December 2017, the band announced it would go on a "short-term hiatus" following their tour in Feb/March 2018 due to "recent issues and injury". The band played the tour as a four-piece, without guitarist Roger Öjersson. The hiatus ended in 2019.
Compilation appearances:
"Black Erotica" and "Love of the Swan" on "W.A.R. Compilation" (1995, Wrong Again Records).
"Soil's Song" on "Explicitly Intense - Insanity Sampler 10".
"Night Comes Down" (Judas Priest cover) on "Decades of Destruction", a covers album given with the September 2016 issue of Metal Hammer.
"December Songs, A Tribute to Katatonia" was released by Northern Silence Productions in 2006.
