Known as The Brood from 1984 to 1987. Under that name they released a full-length called "The Brood" (The Brood - The Brood (1986) on Metalarea)

Throughout the band's history (prior to Uncle Slam's breakup in 1995), vocalist Todd Moyer had remained constant.

They recorded two demos in 1987 with Bob Heathcote, who was a member of the band for a brief moment before he decided to join Suicidal Tendencies, which also featured a lot Uncle Slam members.
