Started as Epidemic.

After the release of their mini-LP (which was quite a "hit" in its time) Efthimis left the band to form Nightfall. Epidemic released a full-album three years later before (in 1990) changing their name to Descend.

Years ago, the band was the most promising band in the Greek Metal Scene, but things changed.

Some people (including ex-Flames member) accused them for several things.

One of them was that in a gig they gave in London , they told lies about the number of people came to the concert.

Epidemic said that their live appearance was almost sold out.

But the other side said they only attracted 5 people. Among those 5 people, was Lyssa (member of Sarissa).

Epidemic admitted that they met Lyssa after the concert,but they never admitted that the crowd was only 5 people.

A radio station gave the change to Epidemic and epidermic (parody band of epidemic including the Flames members) for a live conversation.

Most of Greek Metal fans seem to believe the Epidermic version of the story,that was the reason why many people teased Epidemic after that during their gigs.

Propably this was the reason (and of course that they have lost a lot of their fans) why they decided to change their name to Descend.
