The band (previously known as A Monumental Black Statue to Desperation) was founded in 2007 by XYX and D.H. as a side-project, since they were mainly involved in Criptum. The band's sound evolved from depressive black metal/avant-garde to folk black metal; in 2009 they relocated to London.
For what concerns the band's lyrics, the founders stated that they will never be a political band, nor they want to be involved into the national socialist black metal scene; according to XYX: "there is nothing political in loving our traditions, race and culture". In their "demo era" they wrote about satanism, black magic and hate against human existance. The themes that they elaborate now are dark humour, national romanticism, fall of European tradition and disintegration of the modern world.
