The casual listener could easily see them as a mix of Black Metal & Brutal Death, but the story is far more complex. “Blood Eel” employs cold production reminiscent of 90’s black metal while retaining the clarity of each instrument for a powerfully murderous soundscape.

Contrasting the cruelty of human nature with the purity and apparent calm of the greater cosmos breeds a tension ready to explode. Moments after the first atmospheric suspense of the intro, a storm of aggression breaks, with few peaceful moments of respite. KOMMANDANT combine the strength of Marduk & Infernal War with the subtle shadings of conceptual depth.

Feeding on the confusion and scorn of our times, this is the sonic renaissance annealed by a hammer of destruction.

There is everything we could expect in this black metal. Very good organic production. Dark, brutal, martial yet not industrial and with deep atmosphere. Excellent musicianship. This is more black than death. Done by experienced professionals. I don't see many quality black metal releases this year with this level of professionnalism and remaining true to the roots. 9.gif
