All Wintersun shows cancelled
There has come again unexpected problems with technology, which will make finishing the "Time" album even more harder than it has been. Which will delay it even more. Thereґs also some personal problems concerning my apartment.
Because of all the problems, I have fallen under a serious amounts of stress, which is sometimes causing me "writerґs blocks". This album making is now turned into such a "risky business", that I have no choise, but to cancel Summerbreeze and Bloodstock.
The thing is, the album has to be done first, before we can play any shows. Playing just old songs after many years isnґt something we want to do and what probably no one wants to see.
After the album has been mixed, I need to mix again a "backuptrack livemix" (of the synths&orchestrations). Then we have to of course practise the new songs and arrange them into "live format" (especially mine and Teemuґs guitar parts). We also need to update our humble live gear.
All these arrangements take time, so we donґt want to risk it, that we might have to cancel the shows last minute. It must be done now and put finishing the album the number one priority. After the album is done, we will start booking shows again.
I know thereґs lots of disappointed people and I have to apologize. But I hope that youґll understand my decision under these circumstances. I have to put the album first and finish it before we play any shows. Thanks for listening!

All Wintersun shows cancelled add-on
Since Iґve gotten lots of disappointed email, I decided to do this add-on update just for the forums. ґCause It would take too much time to start answering everyone personally. I can totally feel everyoneґs disappointment and I am hugely disappointed myself (also Kai, Teemu and Jukka). Iґm glad to hear you guys still would like to see us, even if there wasnґt any new songs on the setlist. But this would be quite awkward for us, embarrasing even. We played only old songs (and one new riff) in last years Metalcamp. Although we enjoyed playing the show very much and the fans response was amazing, we said to eachother "next time weґll play, weґll play also new songs". We desperately want to present something new, when we go on to the stage again.
Another thing was, that these shows were stressing me out. I was constantly thinking "whether Iґll get the album done and weґll get everything ready and organized before the shows" and it was starting to hurt my inspiration and workflow. For some people stress and deadlines could be a resource of inspiration, but Iґve learned (in my personal 15 years of song writing experience) itґs definately not for me! I work the best, when Iґm calm and focused and you know, just happy. I havenґt been, because so much problems has just hit me from every direction. Iґve sometimes felt even, that I could be "burning out".
I really hate disappointing people, but I feel like Iґm in "damned if you do, damned if you donґt" situation. If I didnґt cancel the shows, the album would have hurt and be delayed even more than it has. And you know me, I am not for compromising the quality of the album. So I had to just choose from "two evils". I chose to focus fully on the album and finish it before anything else, ґcause I donґt want it to be delayed anymore. And it would have been for many weeks, if not months because of these shows. Like I said there is lot to organize and things to get done, before we can play live again.
Hope you understand this decision and still welcome us, when we have a new the chance to come there!

I havenґt been able to work properly in 3 months. My apartment is under renovations (which I didnґt have any say in), so I canґt live there.
Itґs scheduled to end this month, but there could be delays. But letґs hope there wonґt be and I can get back to working full-time.

Chill guys!
The reason why Iґve been and will continue to be "under the radar" is because Iґve needed to focus on the album 100% and needed to "get away from it all" until itґs finished.
The reason why people are upset is because they canґt understand the situation from the outside. Iґve tried to explain it few times, but it seems that some people still donґt understand. This isnґt your "basic traditional metal album" or not even a "basic traditional orchestral metal album". Only way people can understand if theyґll come to my humble home studio and see/hear the projects/music for themselves.
I have to make this album complitely the wrong way (the hard way) how orchestral albums like this should be made, because Iґm a poor bastard. It takes weeks to make orchestrations and all the synths, samples and FX to one riff/part, because I canґt do it all in one project, in real time and in a big template. And a song could have 10-20 riffs/parts, so you get the picture why it is taking so long. Actually considering the circumstances Iґve worked quite fast.
The other thing is, that I donґt want to release albums with poor production again. Even if it means I wonґt release albums anymore in my life. Iґll just make crappy demos for my own amusement then. You know, I have probably 10 albums worth of great material, but most of them probably wonґt ever see the light of day. Iґll take them to my grave rather than release them with crappy production. Thatґs just stubborn me. Deal with it! Very Happy
Iґm in the same boat as you guys. The wait is killing me too, but it is what it is. No need to get angry. You know Iґve already gone through every emotion between sadness&hate Razz and Iґve reached a totally new "zombie like" state, but a "moderately happy zombie". Smile I figured no point of being mad at the world.
But from January when I got to move back home, Iґve had a good workflow. So I will just keep working and weґll just have to see how it goes.
Land of Snow and Sorrow is complitely finished. Storm and Silver Leaves are about to be done soon. Thereґs still plenty to go with the other songs, but clearly the victory is near. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel, I hope itґs not a train though Razz `cause the mix is still big question mark, I donґt know if my Mac can handle it.
Giving updates when nothing major hasnґt happened and explaining myself and the situation over and over again is really starting to sound like complaining and I donґt want to complain or sound negative! So the next update will come when something big is happening.
So please just relax until then and meanwhile thereґs plenty of other good bands to listen to... like ABBA!
p.s. By the way, me and Teemu got an Ibanez deal, so we are very happy about that. So buy Ibanez guitars fuckers!
