Добрый вечер! Good evening! Hyvаа iltaa!

Буду очень признателен, если кто-то сможет перевести тексты песен финской группы Raate, поскольку додумывать смысл через переводы google.translate я больше не могу.

I'm looking for someone to translate the Raate (Fin) lyrics, since there's no way I can fully understand them through different web-translaters.

Тексты здесь / The lyrics are here

Спасибо! Thanks! Kiitos!

This is so called word-to-word translation. It propably has spelling mistakes etc.

Raate - Viimeinen Linnoitus (Last fortress)
Album: Sielu, Linna

http://www.metal-archives.com/release.php?id=147907

I'm watching on the wall
how they are destroying
step by step
raping the streets

Smell of the fire and hate
leads the sea of spears
wild and furious run
city bleeds the blood

They are at the gate
afoam sea
they are at the gate
the wall doesn't stand (no more)

It (the wall) doesn't stand.

(Now it) remains just
fortress of my thoughts
invulnerable
nest of the death

Eternally safe
from might of fire and sword
Last fortress
rests safe inside my soul

MasterMetaller, thanks a lot for your translation! smile1.gif

Here are the lyrics which can be found on Demo I.
Notice, this is word-to-word translation, again.
I am not a professional translator, so do not mind if there aren't poem metres nor rhymes. fear.gif

Raate - Rauniotorni ("Ruins of the tower", "Ruined tower" )
Album: Demo I

Thousands of steps
travellers lashed/beaten by (stormy) weather
Sellers, vagabonds
hungry beggars

Hunting groups
glorious catches/spoils
beasts of the forest
bonfires of the great camps

Soft winters
and lethal summers
Flooding rivers
and dry runaways

And...

Crushed men
Scorched corpses
Bloody blades, wounded faces
Heavy strokes of the surrounders

The tower has seen all of them.
The tower has stood all of them.

Raate - Halki kuolleen maan ("Through dead land")
Album: Demo I

The land is languishing
in the teeth/throes of aridity
It asked/requested water from the heaven.

Wind is screaming/yelling
and dust river flows
Dusty storm (travels)
towards dead forest.

Wooden graveyard
full of silence
and dry dead trees
yellow leaves.

Stone is frying under the sun
and shrivelled mosses
are covering its (stone's) surface.
Dead friends.

Raate - Aamu koittaa (" The morning arrives/dawns ")
Album: Demo I

Plants of the meadow are drunk/temulent
for morning dew.
Their leaves are heavy
(because of) weight of water.

Then comes
destroying hoofs.
And traipse
everything (below)

Raging steps
tear plants down.
Desecrate the meadow,
slash it.

Someone rises the sword from sheath
screams resound
sounds reply.
Beasts of the morning arrive.

Their mouths foam
saliva or blood.
Hear how they thirst
to cut throats

(Can you hear?)

The sword and anvil.
Song of the "vein man"

( Translator's notice: I cannot translate word 'suolestaja', but it means a job where should work with veins or something like that... 1488.gif )

Mad executioner
and raging horror.

A group arrives to hillside.
Silence and then
Butcher's voice:
... "Burn!" ...

Raate - Hävitys ( "Devastation" )
Album: Demo I

Surround the children.
Men. Women.
Chase them to the field.
Scythe grain.
Scythe heads.

Bloody grain,
let it burn.
Burn the old.
Throw babes
to dogs to be lacerated.

Iron storm
disappears into wind.
Heavy horses,
Rumble of hoofs
then silence.

Dust intertwines
to bloody fingers
Clay covers
burned faces.
The winner isn't seen / No one can see the winner

Last but not least...

Raate - Raudan Takoja ( "Forger of the iron" / "Blacksmith" )
Album: Sielu, Linna

(Translator's notice: 'Hard' is maybe nearest word to Finnish word 'kitkas'. It's difficult to translate, because it's emotionally-loaded word and has poetry-like meaning... hope you understood? 1488.gif )

Hard glow of the furnace
has tarnished in the eyes
Strong hold of hands
(has) tired during years

He forms/sculpts the iron
hits again
its spirit chastens
despite fatigue is parching

Pounce of thousand sparks
water in (his) eyes raise/rise
and on the sweatdrop
old master glows

dozens of strokes
heavy hits
Finally iron soften
takes the form of blade/knife
( Translator's notice: Meaning of 'vannas' is near to 'knife', if I'm right ... )

Into water to cool down
he puts the iron
himself takes a seat / goes to sit
thus/so falls asleep in chair

Flames relent = ashes
and furnace is getting cold
Inside the master's body
blood is hushing / falling silent

I think I have translated all Raate's lyrics, which can be found on Metal Archives. If there will appear more, let me know smile1.gif

Kiitos! Thanks once again! smile1.gif There's also one Raate compilation song, but there're no lyrics for it so for now all discography is translated.. pray.gif
