"Whirlwinds..." is the rare first demo by one of my favorite French bands, invoking the spirit of Celestia, but with less romanticism and more battleaxes. It's interesting to see the homophobic stance that this band used in 1998 as well, which seems to have been dropped further down the line. All of the tracks on here are excellent, but a starting block nomination has to go to "Through the Chant of Witch Stars...".
