Теперь по делу. Копирую свой старый отзыв 2006 года.
Именно таким - мелодичным плотным жестким разнотемповым - должен быть death/doom!
Такие красивые музыкальные бриллианты встречаются крайне редко. Чувствуется рука маэстро Swano...

Я вот именно этот альбом не сильно котирую, а вот все остальные за ним - шедевры. Мне очень по душе как у них музыка выстроена, эта линия идёт начиная со второго альбома, не с этого. Не музыкант, хрен знает что это за линия, но вот есть она. И вообще прог люблю.
Ну и ещё воспоминания кое-какие связанные с Watershed (IMG:style_emoticons/default/redp.gif)

Любимый альбом любимой группы.
Ещё нет колоссальной навороченности последующих альбомов, но уже масса новаторских (хотя бы в рамках тяжелой музыки) ходов.
Причём чувствуется, что написанию композиций преложило руку несколько человек, а ни один Окерфельдт как в дальнейшем. Благодаря этому альбом получился и остается самым разноплановым (даже в рамках Opeth!) и тяжеловесным в альбомной истории группы - даже если так можно выразится, "Orchid" - самое дикое и в хорошем смыле "первобытно-историческое", из того, что дали Opeth прог-метлу. Редкий по насыщенности альбом, в него вложено столько музыкальной мысли (довольно частая картина для 1-го альбома исторически значимой группы), что перестаёшь чувствовать почву под ногами, и начинает казаться, что гениальное столь же естественно, как и полное отсутствие гениального. И только периодическое возвращение к альбому позволяет его оценить по достоинству, каждый раз наслаждаясь и открывая для себя новые любимые места (они почему-то всё время разнятся, как будто солнце падает то на опушку, то под откос). Трудно выделить какой-то отдельный шедевр, альбом предельно ровный, без проседаний. Но мне как-то по-особому полюбилась 1-ая, довольно скоростная композиция "In Mist She Was Standing", фортепьянный опус "Silhouette", и особенно 2-ая часть вещи "The Twilight is My Robe". Начало и концовку "The Apostle in Triumph" - в списк лучших моментов тяжёлой музыки...
