Не устану говорить, что беда тех переводов была в горе-переводчиках, которые переводили буквально, без адаптации к русскому языку. Если сделать адаптацию, то все наполнится смыслом, пусть и сюрреалистическим. А те старые, кустарные переводы можно воспроизвести и сейчас, если закинуть английский текст в любой онлайн переводчик и говорить потом, что авторы текста пишут какую то чушь.
