Вот кстати, да, но я для такого The Howling Void иногда включаю. Первый альбом, он реально масштабный и ландшафтный. Такое путешествие в потусторонность.
В отличие от именно этого альбома сабжа.
Прошлый у них был более собранный в музыкальных мыслях, сосредоточенный,
а здесь как-то нет нужного настроя.

Потустороннее более видится в экспериментальных проектах, в которых чаще можно услышать некоторые небольшие атональные решения, зловещие сэмплы, психоделические эффекты, плывущий звук, искаженный вокализ. И это уже не будет чистым фюнералом, унылость обрывающейся в незаконченной ступени мелодии тянет на пост, использование гармоний, более сложных, отличных от натурального минора, мажора - ближе к дум/дэт в замедленном крайне темпе. 
Фюнерал в моем представлении, и опять же - это особенности собственного восприятия, наиболее близок к академической, классической европейской музыке. И в нем не так много загробного. Скорее это музыка, создаваемая живыми для того, чтобы напомнить им что они пока здесь.

Абсолютно "не старый не добрый", первые 2 альбома группы были более сосредоточенными мелодически, именно что фьюнеральными и по форме и по содержанию, не настолько светлыми мелодически, в вокальных перформансах чувствовалась большее отчаяние . Сабж - логичное продолжение именно что последнего полноформата. Этакое путешествие по луже осеннего опавшего листочка или неспешный дрейф бумажного кораблика в едва журчащем лесном ручье.

Наконец-то добрался сегодня, прогнал пару раз, доволен. Хорошая, пронзительная, ледяная музыка, под которую отлично было бы замерзать насмерть. Риффовка показалась похожей на дебютный альбом внезапно. Коскинен всё так же завывает потусторонними падшими ангелами. Надо будет тексты почитать.
