Так. Ну что ж, как и обещал, небольшой отзыв касательно дважды прослушанного альбома.
Сразу скажу: ждал большего. Особенно после того, как прочитал отзыв Thiarnan'а. Ад, драйв и все такое... Ну не знаю. Все оценочные категории носят субъективированный характер, но вот какой-то особенной злобы, которая у группы была раньше, я не услышал. Чистенько так, даже интеллигентно. Вместо свирепого мордобоя с применением арматуры — джентльменское боксирование. Это не значит, что стало больше мелодизма (Боже упаси), просто чуть подрассыпалась былая плотность звука, ударные откатились назад, да и вокал слегка поутих. Музыка Ad Hominem ухослышно стала быстрее, но и потеряла с этим в жесткости. Кстати, такое изменение в принципе на подсознательно-интуитивном уровне предсказывалось — впервые на обложке отважных борцов с ZOG появился какой-то иной цвет помимо белого и черного! Да еще и логотип поменяли, и зря — старый был очень хорош, а новый какой-то банальный. Впрочем, это маловажные мелочи. Пройдемся по песням.
Про интро я уже говорил. Оно меня разочаровало в том смысле, что настраивало на продолжение в виде какого-нибудь бэтл-блэка в духе Marduk времен "Танковой дивизии". Однако, как я уже сказал выше, ничего такого не случилось. Поэтому незачет, затравка должна соответствовать основному блюду. Далее идет совершенно убогий трек Dictator, оставивший меня равнодушным и заставив (в первое прослушивание) подумать о том, что альбом-то на самом деле УГ. Конечно, в итоге впечатление стало гораздо лучше, но вот конкретно эту песню я бы выкинул с альбома, лажа полная. Slaves of God оказалась синтезом позднего Darkthrone и Slavia. Гитары так вообще чистой воды Славия. Но мне она нравится, так что зачет. А вот последующие песни я никак отдельно оценивать не буду, ибо совершенно единый монолит, без труда переходящий в следующую свою стадию безо всяких стыков. Конечно, некоторые треки: The Encomium of Terror, Zogisdead или Total Völkermord бьют по мозгу и ушам так, что башка сама собой начинает трястись в такт, но в целом качество оставшихся шести песен одинаковое и именно они вытягивают работу на ту оценку, которую я ей поставил. А поставил я ей 4,3/5. Потому что энергии на мой взгляд маловато. Мощи не хватает. А так — заебок. Еще один балл в копилку французского блэка. Оный меня еще ни разу в этом году не разочаровал.
