Sadly, but on metalarea we could found hundreds of Melodic Death Metal bands (and most part is second hand boring shit), but only few Progressive Metal bands (not even shitty ones). At least I have some bands to post.

Castaway plays nice melodic Progressive Metal. The closest similar bands could be Poverty’s no Crime, The Black Symphony, Threshold, Angel Dust.

Nice, catchy Melodic Metal with female vocals and a bunch of popsy hit songs. Musicians themselves called their style AOR/Gothic Metal. To my mind female vocals alone don’t make music “Gothic”. Highly recommended for female vocal fans and fans of Doro, Pretty Maids, Almora.

FROM OFFICIAL SITWE:
“The idea about mixing female vocals, acoustic guitars, hard trashing riffs (what a hell they mean by “trashing riffs” ? BofD), flutes, pianos, cellos and others with sequencer and samples has been in Jarda's head for long time, driving him almost crazy, before he finally met Olga in summer of 2003.”

Stylistically quite interesting album – dark mix of Gothic Rock and Epic Doom, with deep clear vocals. Could be compared with more Gothic Rock oriented Root / Tristitia. Only downside – some great tracks are mixed with some good and mediocre ones.

For me there isn't any difference between old and new files, so the tactics should be the same.

If someone wonder, why people with non-Russian IP's don't like ifolder, try to download old file We should do the same with all files on ifolder

I discovered in last week, that file download speed is random - I mean when I download some 6 files 2-3 have normal speed (in Kbps) others have speed in Bps, so I try to download them once more (I refresh original link, click once more on advertisement and wait until the new download link is generated, then try to download again). Sometimes it works in first try, sometimes in second.

And use download manager, it improves speed very significant. Best choice is Russian Download Master, but as it couldn’t find my proxy after changes made at my work, I use Free Download Manager now - and it’s quite good too.

[more=Info]Some months ago there was lame web rip of this album in some places (including metalarea.org), where songs were simply collected from different albums, in 4 different bitrates (including 128kbps) and in 3 codec’s. Even I could do this shit better, because I have all PF albums in VBR, harder part could be covers, but I guess I have them all somewhere.

Whatever, great compilation, 2-3 tracks from all (6) albums of their 8 year career. As always, some great tracks are missing, but as compensation, all tracks are remastered, and as nice bonus – 2nd CD have all PF covers from Horrorscope EP and tributes

The track Iron Man from this album was given a Grammy Award for "Best Metal Performance" on February 23, 2000. Selling My Soul uses a drum machine.

Tony Iommi – Guitars

Same shit with Ifolder for a month - speed is counted in B/s. For big suprise yestarday I downloaded one file with 1.8 MB/s speed, 2 files with ~35KB/s, but rest ~50B/s and with pauses.

People with non-Russian IP should do that way:

1.Close advertisment

2.Go to next page to choose advertisment

3.Click on ANY advertisement:

4.You will get page like that, where clock is counting down seconds, showing when you could get the link

5.If you are blocking pop-ups, you should press there:

6.Now you should enter number, to get download link. Uf!

In 2006 Timo Rautiainen & Trio Niskalaukaus split and Timo Rautiainen, together with Nils Ursin and some Finnish metal superstars, formed new band – musically the same as previous one – this unique Soumi Metal sound (mix of Heavy Metal / Gothic Metal / Modern Metal / Melodic Metal).

This single is quite similar in sound to Viikate – melancholic Heavy / Gothic Metal.

Timo Rautiainen - Vocals, Guitar (Timo Rautiainen & Trio Niskalaukaus, ex-Lyijykomppania)
Peter Engberg - Guitar
Alexander Kuoppala - Guitar (ex-Children of Bodom)
Tuomas Holopainen - Keyboards (Nightwish, For My Pain..., Furthest Shore, ex-Nattvindens Gråt, ex-Darkwoods My Betrothed)
Nils Ursin - Bass (Timo Rautiainen & Trio Niskalaukaus, ex-Paraxism, ex-Sethian, Where Victims Lie)
Jussi Lampi - Drums (Wanna-Bees, Bodyguard, Pink Flamingos)

Jussi Lampi is a famous finnish actor.

First thing that turned my attention to this band – all band members were 10 years old … As good surprise they could play well and manage to compose some solid songs. Style is mix of Heavy Metal and Melodic Death Metal, with some Punk Rock touch on the first song.

Check up review (http://www.metal-archives.com/review.php?id=132723) – there are some interesting thoughts about Finland’s metal scene.

The best Metallica tribute I heard (Metal Militia, Metallic Assault, A Tribute to the Four Horsemen). First I was quite sceptic about mostly unknown Russian bands, but almost every cover is interesting. Not a single is played exactly like on original (or worse) like on most of other covers.
