songs created in the 90's... the material is quite comparable to the one from the sophomore, quirky progressive metal with shades of more aggressive thrashier behaviour. The songs where the Megadeth guys take part are by far the best, resembling the early Megadeth efforts.

excellent twisted technical death; fast hyper-active music with loads of interesting moments, including a few melodic distractions. Early Deeds of Flesh comes to mind, although this stuff here isn't so insistently on the brutal side

similar to the debut, quite cool classic progressive speed/thrash with long elaborate compositions, resembling Paradox, including in the hoarse semi-clean vocal department

atmospheric dissonant music... quiet minimalistic stuff, recalling the Norwegians Virus. Not much metal here but still interesting, with meditative qualities

there's no thrash here under any form; this is pure happy-go-lucky power/speed metal

every bit as great as the next two demos; labyrinthine multi-layered progressive thrash of the old school, with nice melodies and sudden speedy passages. "Cruel Child" is one of the greatest instrumental in metal history... no kidding.

another masterpiece by this superb band... heavy multi-layered, complex dark progressive with overt shades of thrash at times. Fans of the band will instantly recognize their idols. A great return after a huge 12-year break

Ну что, нормальный альбом; без сюрпризов. Напоминает Headhunter немножко, как прошлый... классический speed/thrash, бойкий и энергичный, еще не музыка авто-пилота. Ну новый "Release from Agony" не будет, мне кажется. Без Mike Sifringer-а это невозможно случится

Удивительно, что группа до сих пор справляется без Piggy (R.I.P.), выпуская эти диссонирующие психоделические оперы... трэш, как обычно, то тут, то там появляется, но в остальном это еще одна характерная, абстрактная запись Voivod; футуристическая антиутопическая музыка, доступная инопланетянам.

Voivod всегда были странные. Мне потребовалось довольно много времени, чтобы привыкнуть к их характерным музыкальным ландшафтам... ну сейчас люблю их на куски, как ингилизы говорют

It's amazing that the band can still pull it off without Piggy (R.I.P.), to produce these dissonant psychedelic operas... thrash, as customary, shows up here and there, but otherwise this is another characteristic, abstract Voivod recording; futuristic dystopian music also accessible to the aliens out there

deeply atmospheric, doomy/balladic stuff... great clean emotional vocals keep this hypnotic album afloat, and if in the right frame of mind, this could be a very rewarding listening experience

quite similar to the one album-wonder Vauxdvihl's "To Dimension Logic" (1994), also from Australia

fans of Queensryche's "Operation Mindcrime" and Fates Warning's "Perfect Symmetry" should love this to bits as well

solid (no pun intended) dark atmospheric progressive, heavy slow-burning music which comes as a mix between the dramatic riff-patterns of Andromeda and the pensive doomy musings of Communic. Very good attached clean vocals as well

this is mostly a black/death metal mixture; very little thrash here...

slow, atmospheric melodic doom with balladic and epic tendencies; very good near-meditative music with nice clean mid-ranged singing... and a few even better female vocal inclusions

the same whirlwind of technical guitar wizardry as before... fast, relentless, and very intricate, with moments of surreality popping up here and there. Fans of the dazzling brutality movement (Cryptopsy, Suffocation, Yattering, Grotesque, etc.) will be very happy with this.

This album would have appeared earlier if it wasn't for the sad death of the guitar player Paul Konjicija... R.I.P. Fans of the band should love this new outing, the familiar from past recordings blend of progressive, power and some thrash... a few speedy galloping attempts as well. The new vocalist is quite comparable to the old one, a deep clean emotional voice, nicely fitting the dark moderately complex music.

the band's sophomore "Poisoned Reality" is a milestone in technical death metal art. The album here is probably not on the same very high level, but is a perfectly acceptable entry into their discography, hectic lively intricate music with a lot of twists and turns, a few nice melodies as well... overall, a welcome return from one of the masters of the tech-death form.
