Вобщем альбом очень и очень порадовал, сначала я его не мог дослушать до конца, так как все время слушал For You To Know и Debris.
Признаться, я был приятно удивлен новым пением Тобиаса в For You To Know (в этот момент в песне просто хочется отрываться! ) И вот эти веселые штучки аля "кваканье" гитары, как в Amnesia на предыдущем альбоме. Люблю у них такие моменты.
Debris начинается с игры на одной гитаре, потом подключается вторая, потом третья и снова пошел отрыв, наикрутейшие партии лид гитары, разнообразные вокальные партии (гроул Тобиаса переходит в скрим и обратно), все эти замедления, ломаные ритмы, акустическая вставка - я снимаю шляпу перед шведами. И опять-таки, второй трек, как и на предыдущем, в песне Amnesia, напоминает что-то восточное в некоторых моментах.
The Poet And The Painter Of Souls приятно ложиться на слух, но очень напоминает песню Grind Denial, но, конечно же, имеет свои особенности.
И тут как раз появляется вопрос, а где же эти красивейшие моменты с чистым вокалом, что были на дебютнике? Есть тут такой момент в песне Smoke, но этот момент на 3:35 до боли похож на проигрышь из Black Lodge, хех, забавно слушается.
A Shade Of Plague - единственный трек, который вызвал недоумение.
With You Came Silence - еще покурить надо, недалеко от A Shade Of Plague.
И тут задорная Pale Eye Revelation приятно порадовала качевостью и припевом.
Ну и последний эпик The Final Solution (Entering The Black Lodge) еще полностью не уложился, но оставил оч приятные впечатления, особенно мне понравились звуки дождя и грома)

Да лан) первый тоже не сразу пошел и стал любимым в итоге, этот тоже надо расслушать...

[more=Extended info]ColdWays is a progressive metal project by William O’Connor. Started in 2007 with the release of a three track demo titled “Solitude Tonight”. The demo featured an “unplugged” approach to creating alternative dark music. The demo was well recieved but the project was put on hiatus while William focused on other projects, most notably Shadowfault.

William left Shadowfault in 2009 and began work on “My Failures”, the first full length ColdWays album. The Album features 9 tracks. It is a mixture of Alternative rock and progressive metal. Shortly after completing the album ColdWays signed a record deal with the independent label Wasteful Records.

Я всегда ценил Кататонию за умение создавать атмосферу и было абсолютно все равно каким образом она это делает.

По-моему альбом получился лучшим со времен DoDS и BMD и ожидания оправдались больше, чем на половину По сути, альбом удивил своим разнообразием, а точнее обилием трип-хоповых вставок (переходящие в кататониевский рок\метал и обратно, в трип-хоп), а также вокалом Йонаса (ибо тут он поет лучше как никогда и как нигде), утяжеленным саундом и различными клавишными проигрышами. Нет больше тех сложных ритмов и нет больше того апатичного вокала, что были на TGCD. Йонас поет настолько эмоционально, что это никак не может оставить тебя равнодушным, альбом пестрит завораживающими мелодиями и с легкостью погружает в свою атмосферу , которая раскрыта тут полностью. А атмосфера тут, мне кажется, ночного города в осенний период, по крайней мере такие образы возникают при прослушивании Я бы даже сказал, это самая продуманная и зрелая работа Кататонии со времен DoDS и BMD. Вобщем рекомендую.

Lucifer Effect мега мега прэй, больше всего с альбома понравилась!

Классный альбом, даже не знаю, если сравнивать с предыдущем, то этот мне больше понравился, хоть и предыдущий хорош по-своему. В этом альбоме превалирует чистый вокал по сравнению с предыдущим, да и этот утяжеленный саунд мне здесь нравится куда больше, чем на предыдущем. Что касается песен, то тут хитов будет побольше, чем на прошлом. На прошлом я все время слушал половину альбома, потому что дальше уже становилось скучно. Здесь же альбом изобилует разнотемповыми песнями, помимо прочих, есть и, так называемые, "медлячки". Не, поцаки выросли опредленно с этим альбомом. Рекомендую опробовать сие творение, а сам альбом у меня автоматически отправляется в плеер на длительное расслушивание.
