хороший альбомчик. Драйв, буйство мелодий и никакого занудства. Единственный основательный минус этой группы - вокал. Этому вокалисту бы в каком нибудь немецком хелловинистом пувере зажигать. Задо скрим здесь не такой противный, как на Colony, которую из за этого визга недорезанной свиньи я и до половины не дослушал (особенно обидно, учитывая потрясную мелодику альбома)

Мне кажется,что это уже можно смело называть модерн мелодик дэт металом.То,что было началом на пред.альбоме,имеет прогресс тут.Заметно то,что музыка стала более прямолинейной -и это может даже в минус.Но есть обалденная музыка сдесь- и это главное! В период с 1994 по 2000 великие шведы ни разу не выпустили двух одинаковых альбомов, но Reroute to Remain серьёзным образом изменил звучание группы, открыв новую дверь, и, похоже, навсегда закрыв старую. Конечно, некоторая пригрувованость риффов наблюдалась уже на предшественнике (взять ту же Pinball Map), но тут она развернулась в полную силу, став одним из первых кирпичей в фундаменте той музыки, которая позже получит название modern melodic death metal (но не первым, Soilwork так заиграли ещё раньше). Вместо традиционной для мелодэта клавишной стены звука теперь много электроники, а Фриден чаще поёт, нежели рычит (в особенности в припевах), да ещё и с наложением на вокал разнообразных эффектов. На сей раз ребята замахнулись на целых 14 треков и более 50 минут хронометража, что, имхо, было немного зря: Trigger, Cloud Connected и Free Fall, конечно, хитяры, также прекрасна System (один из мощнейших припевов, что я слышал в мелодэте), но остальные треки несколько ниже прежнего мелодического уровня группы (пускай и почти все добротные). Отдельно отмечу две лёгкие, почти неметалёвые песни: Dawn of a New Day и Metaphor. Первая весьма хороша своей депрессивной мелодикой, несмотря на то, что бормотание Фридена в куплетах подозрительно напоминают Мэрилина Мэнсона (не скажу, чтоб мне очень хотелось слышать от него подобные интонации). Её я бы поставил в конец вместо Black & White (закрывашка тут по традиции вообще довольно спорной нужности композиция, я бы вынес её в бонусы). Что же до Metaphor, то для меня вообще загадка, кто додумался включить в трек-лист альбома этот блёклый и унылый МТВ-рок. Я бы это фуфло даже в бонусы не выносил бы, а похоронил бы на репетиционной базе. Ну да ладно.
10/12 - несмотря на очевидные минусы, это отличный альбом. Если, конечно, вы не закостенелый олдфаг. |
