Данный группой Canopy старомодный и плаксивый death в медленном темпе был бы типичным «ещё одним из...», выйди он на закате девяностых. Музыка сохранила беспросветный дух того времени, мрачные взгляды на окружающее и так же, как и любой подобный образец сплиновой шведятинки, оставляет маленькое белое пятнышко, кое глаз едва-едва выхватывает из сумрака, какой-то реликт надежды. Если хотите, можно начерпать параллели с Mourning Beloveth и Embracing, At The Gates (очень отдалённо) и Edge Of Sanity (по части солирующей гитары) — всего по-чуть-чуть. Только для 2010 года такая музыка опоздала на целое десятилетие. Даже больше, чем на десять лет. Не то сейчас время, не те ценности, да и ностальгия порой щимит сердце не по так называемому 'old-school' текущих дней, а по тому, что некогда было новым, актуальным; по тому, что навевает воспоминания о чём-то, чего нынче нет. Лично мне Menhir понравился, но больше одного раза я его слушать не буду. Хоть и не вижу света в конце тоннеля, тьма в 2010 году не о том, о чём она была в девяностые. Тут нужны другие подходы. Какие? — понятия не имею...

Начинаясь практически с пост-роковых проигрышей, альбом постепенно набирает обороты, сменяя ритм, мелодику и музыкальные приемы, и завершается гимном "Zenith". Неизменным остается только гроул вокалиста. Альбом производит впечатление цельной работы, к тому же очень профессионально исполненной. Пусть используемая музыкантами манера игры несколько устарела, но им можно многое простить за мощь, качевость и просто умение хорошо сочинять и играть. Классическое звучание MDM здесь, кстати, то и дело разбавляется вполне современными клавишными фишками, так что не согласен с высказываниями про превалирующую на альбоме олдскульность.
Очень понравилась гитарная работа в композиции "Inward Burst".

Как по мне, то этот альбом я буду переслушивать еще не раз.
