"As The Sea Parts" was created in early 1995 by the ideas of Paul Vanderslice. Over the first few months of its creation, Paul wrote a few wongs that qre in the vein of bands such as "Anathema", "My Dying Bride", "Death" and "Cynic". This mixture has influenced the unique sound of "As The Sea Parts", creating an atmospheric & melodic Doom/Death Metal style.

Очень понравилась группа! При том, что первая тема и не сильно впечатлила - из шума моря выходит медленный дэт/дум, неплохой, но и не особо оригинальный. Зато вторая и третья вещи прилично повышают впечатление о каманде: Tears Of Despair заметно бодрее, сочный звук, изобретательные рифы, интересны драммерские штучки; Sea Of The Departed - очень красивый инструментал. Все композиции проходят в обрамлении морского шума, особенно эффектно это смотрится в последнем номере. Вообще, видно, что группа перспективная и что-то такое в их музыке определённо есть. 8.5/10
