Melodic death metal с приставкой "technical". Скажу прямо - приставку эту зря приставили (простите за тавтологию). Получил море негативных эмоций. Объясняю почему исходя из хорошей украинской поговорки "що занадто - то нездраво": у музыкантов, судя по всему, в голове накопилось море различных идей и они решили выплеснуть их все на единое полотно. Вышла каша. Сами по себе ходы впечатляют новизной и неожиданностью, однако торчат в композиции как пятое колесо у брички. Этому гитарному др04еву* в традициях Behold The Arctopus, Orthrelm и Psyopus не место на гротескной мелодической основе. Выбивают ещё резкие и многократные смены темпа с уходом в атоналку - тоже ни к селу ни к городу. Зато вокал хороший.

Не знаю не знаю. Для меня эта работа стоит в одном ряду с такими "ровестниками", как Brain Drill *The Parasites*, Visceral Bleeding *Absorbing The Disarray* и Spawn of Possession *Noctambulant*.

А ничё так. По поводу мешанины-есть немного и не по делу, но в основном интересно. Несколько трэков понравились ЦЕЛИКОМ.По меньше бы электрического стула или ощущения, что парни сами усложняют себя и свою музыку.

К умной музыке надо всё время тянуться. Пытаться понять её. По крайней мере, регулярно её слушать. В противном случае, мозги настолько привыкают к стандартным "квадратам", что когда попадается группа, играющая сложную умную музыку (прогрессив какой-нибудь, или техно-дэт), воспринимаешь её с трудом. Для меня альбом The Faceless стал глотком свежего воздуха - чертовски приятно иметь дело с умной и техничной музыкой! И хотя далеко не всегда понимаешь все эти выверты и хитросплетения ритма, и то, как вообще создаётся такой стаф, интуитивно чувствуешь интеллект этой музыки. Охренительный technical-death на стыке с TMDM - так можно обозначить стилистику альбома. Мелодичности здесь, конечно, побольше чем у Necrophagist, но явно меньше, чем, например, у Codeon, или, тем более, As Eden Burns. В целом, мелодичность здесь идёт, скажем так, в виде островков - не сплошным ровным полем. Но на этом фоне удивила "до безобразия" мелодичная Leica, разливающая красивейший МДМ (отрезок (4:15-4:50) - просто туши свет! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile1.gif) ). Концовка альбома, вообще, на порядок мелодичнее его начала и середины. Крайне любопытен 6-минутный инструментал Akeldama - подумалось: вот и "фокусы" пошли! Прогрессив-техно-дэт в "циничной" его ипостаси и характерный тому же альбому 93-го года вокал... Ага, диагноз очевиден: у нашего пациента явно наблюдаются скрытые формы садизма, цинизма и атеизма! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile1.gif) Но всё же, в основной своей массе, The Faceless нарезают арсисоподобный TDM/TMDM - то, что эти калифорнийские парни отдавали под козырёк Arsis'у, для меня сомнений не вызывает. Пару слов о техно-вещах: Horizons of Chaos 1: Oracle of the Onslaught - чертовски техничная штука; Horizons of Chaos 2: Hypocrisy -техно-дэт-шиза; All Dark Granes - номер с весьма сложной структурой. Завершающая альбом The Ghost of a Stranger - TMDM высшего сорта, на десерт же всем дождавшимся финала техно-дэт-гурманам - подарок в виде офигительного басового соло (2:53-3:27). Подобное разнообразие (относительное, конечно) The Faceless - это и плюс, и минус. С одной стороны, хорошо, когда разнообразнее, не заскучаешь... А с другой, хотелось бы большей цельности. Но в любом случае порадовали ребята, техничные черти! И ведь не канадцы! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile1.gif) 8.5/10
