Американские дэтстеры Cannibal Corpse известны абсолютно всем, даже тем, кто с трепетом внимает новым шлягерам "Руки вверх!" и всерьез считает "миталом" группу "Звери". Популярность коллектива, как видим, вышла далеко за рамки метал-сцены, соответственно вполне логичен факт, что каждый уважающий себя любитель дэта имеет в своей фонотеке пару-тройку пластинок CC, даже если оных и не шибко уважает. В виду такой популярности каждый новый релиз каннибалов ожидается с интересом и нетерпением.Альбом "Vile" десять лет назад был объектом двойного внимания: во-первых, это был Cannibal Corpse, а во вторых, все думали, ну как будет выглядеть банда без такой яркой личности, как Крис Барнс, чья некрофильная озабоченность стала притчей во языцех, даже, несмотря на то, что подобная тематика песен была не новой даже на момент появления на свет дебютника "Eaten Back To Life". К тому же масла в огонь подливал довольно успешный старт нового коллектива экс-вокалиста маньяков Six Feet Under. Чем ответит оскорбленная, брошенная на произвол судьбы группа? Конечно, мощным, бескомпромиссным дэтом, чем же еще!
А было бы странно увидеть глобальные изменения. Есть такой стишок: "Переменили ямщика, а клячи прежние остались". Нет, это я в хорошем смысле. Но действительно, музыканты ведь никуда не делись. А музыка Cannibal Corpse – это Уэбстер и Оуэн. Оуэн и Уэбстер. Вот они, родимые. Поэтому каннибалы остались каннибалами. Вакантное место у микрофонной стойки занял здоровяк по фамилии Фишер, по имени Жора, он же Георгий Иваныч, он же Гоша, он Гога, он же "Corpsegrinder", он же запевала Monstrosity. Гроулит нормально, ничего себе гроулит, да и смахивает отдаленно на чуть повысившийся вокал Барнса на "The Bleeding".
Музыкальная составляющая "Vile" является логическим продолжением блестящего "The Bleeding". По сравнению с более ранними релизами "Butchered At Birth" и "Tomb Of The Mutilated" каннибалы стали, как мне показалось, чуточку легче и от этого чуточку бодрей. Аналогия же с работой 1994 года прослеживается практически во всем.
