Облачились музыканты для фото на обложку действительно по-гейски. Раньше хоть косухи с шипами и клепками были. Музыка, кстати, тоже под стать: коммерческий хард с танцевальным ритмом и, кое-где, с духовыми инструментами (это, типа, такой утяжеленный фанк-рок в Hyperactive). Соглашусь, что открывашка в меру энергична и даже где-то хитова, как и Rock Dogs, но мне такой звук не нравится. От вчерашних столпов NWOBHM подобного точно не ожидалось (хотя, если вспомнить, Def Leppard отмочили нечто подобное чуть раньше). Сопли с сахаром и дудки - не для серьёзных пацанов. Фу, коммерция! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/22.gif)
П.с. Чтобы совсем уж не расстраивать давних поклонников, Raven записали на альбоме несколько относительно жёстких песен - Nightmare ride, How did you get so crazy, что особо не улучшило моё впечатление от альбома.

Excellent album. Not one bad song.

They went even more commercial hard rock/commercial heavy metal with The Pack Is Back (1986) than on Stay Hard (1985), but I didn't care.
Every song is catchy. Everything was solid, every vocal line, every guitar lick, every drum beat, and even including the brass horns again.

When this was released, i liked ALL HEAVY METAL, from black/death/thrash to stuff like this and Twisted Sister.

The tried to get popular with this type of metal, but it was bad timing - they were 2 years too late.
They weren't pretty enough to be glam, and this wasn't heavy enough for headbangers getting into thrash metal by then.
Good thing they returned to being heavier again after this, so some of the old fans would return.
