The band is twenty years old this year so it was time for a compilation again, the last one came ten years ago. Instead of putting songs together from here and there we thought it would be interesting to record them with the current line-up since we still play those songs live. I think it’s a killer compilation even if you heard the originals or not. It was also a fun album to make. Usually when we make a new albums the songs are new and many things need to be worked out, in this case we played the songs for years so all we needed to do was to rock as much as possible.

Why did you decide on the slightly different arrangements? Was it necessary because of the Tomi Joutsen's timbre, or was it an attempt at 'improving' the original versions?

Most of them have a similar arrangement to what we play live, we didn’t want to copy the originals we just played them the way the are now.

там все дело в отчислениях с продажи первых альбомов, новый состав не получает бабло с них, а переписав заново хиты можно срубить и на старом творчестве
группа хотела подарить радость фэнам и напомнить о корнях, отреставрировав их в новом качестве и с современным звуком

C учётом того, что все музыканты, кроме вокалиста (да, и ещё басист у них с двухтысячного играет), из старого состава группы, хочется сказать одно: не петросянь.

Кстати, олдфагам на заметку: на этом альбоме часть вокала принадлежит Томи Койвусаари. Как пишут, он впервые открыл рот для попеть с тысяча девятьсот девяносто седьмого года.

Форма-то, конечно, адекватна, но содержание прихрамывает: не могу назвать адекватным самолюбование, с которым ты заходишь оповестить о своей ненависти к мэйнстриму (о чём я могу сделать вывод из многочисленных комментариев такого характера в популярных релизах) и данной конкретной группе.

Альбом хороший, мне, как фанату Amorphis, нравится. Чего ещё надо-то.

Кстати, да, aesteticvice, прав.
Amorphis с продаж первых альбомов не имел ничего. С тех, что вышли на Relapse. А тиражи там были не слабые. Поэтому перезапись старого на новый лад, где-то там что-то компенсирует.

смысл переиграть по несколько хитовых трэков мне понятна с коммерческой точки зрения, мне вот с практической не очень ясно, да интересно разок послушать и я даже скачал лося для коллекции (IMG:style_emoticons/default/25.gif) но любопытство удовлетварено и переслушивать такими кусками я вряд ли это буду(слушать, (IMG:style_emoticons/default/20.gif) так целиковые альбомы,тем паче те кто знает их досконально будет дискомфортно не услышать другие трэки)по моему если переделывать то все три полностью, а не кусками...в результате получился кастрат со спец эффектамину.... имхо конечно
и в общем, об этой компиляшке: было любопытно

Как по мне так альбом классный. Старые песни получили второе дыхание, зазвучали очень мощно и интересно. Да и облога доставила - у Аморфиса уже есть Лебедь, Щука, следующим я так подозреваю будет Рак (IMG:style_emoticons/default/15.gif)
