Хоть и многие этот альбом не воспринимают, он мне очень нравится: разноплановый, необычный, нетривиальный что ли. Особенно меня зацепила песня 213 - это ж любовная баллада практически!

Отличнейший альбом-тест преампа Rocktron Piranha.
Плюс к этому, Slayer выдали очередной пример своего некогда новаторского ноу-хау - минимум мелодики, максимум убойных риффов.
Ведь на чём построена музыка иных столпов, баловавшихся тяжестью до запуска в действие данного интернационального состава? На сохранении мелодического базиса, и дальнейших экспериментах со звуком, темпом, ритмом, интервалами. Что, кстати, позволяет сыграть вещи той же безмерно мелодичной Металлики или Мэйденов на любом инструменте, т.к. мелодизм абсолютно универсален в плане методов воспроизведения.
И что учинили Slayer? Нагло забили на мелодику, сокрушая головы убойными риффами. Не знаю, были ли они первыми, но первыми сверхуспешными - наврняка.

Этот альбом действительно относится ещё к старому, волосатому (в душе) Слэйеру, потому что в нём присутствуют следующие нетленки:

Очень нравиться звук тут - уже не так сухо, что как-будто ножовкой по дереву, а мощно - с сильными средними и низами.
Соло правда огорчают - Кинг начал здесь уже "как бы от балды" пилить - т.е. осмысленных мелодий в соло тут уже не наблюдается, и кстати как было верно подмечено ранее, сабж - наименее мелодичная работа группы во всём золотом (классическом) периоде.
Не один "Diabolus In Musica" качёв - хардкор кстати местами и здесь прослеживается в некоторых композициях.

Этот альбом больше всех нравиться. Хотя сами музыканты о нём неважно говорят, мол плохо сведён, записан, но здесь есть то что мне нравиться: грязноватый звук, непревзойдённый надрывный вокал Арайи на одноименном треке, пронизывающие осмысленные соляки Кинг-Наннеман. Бостаф, конечно не Ломбардо, но у него своя игра в чём-то даже лучше своего предшественника, не такая разнообразная, но для это релиза очень подходит. Треки - короткие боевики, появилось новое припанковое звучание, элементы треш-кора, и всё очень разнообразно.

и, как первая любовь, этот альбом запомнился навсегда.

Медленные треки не вставляют, а скоростные настолько возбуждающи, что моим стояком можно дрова колоть. "Dittohead" вне конкуренции, но и "Circle of Beliefs" мажет не по херне.

Классный альбом - не такой любимый как канонические 80-е, но это не отменяет сабжевого своеобразия и офиегенскости. ЧЕГО только первые 3 песни стоят, 8 и 10 - кайф. Один из недооцененных релизов Убивателей. Слабых у них нет вообще, есть менее сильные. 1996 только не берём в расчет как хк-панк ответвление.

В 1994 году плевался от этого альбома, а теперь переслушал и переоценил в лучшую сторону. Более того, Divine Intervention помог мне немного под другим углом взглянуть на сегодняшний Слэйер World Painted Blood (2009), который по сути ничуть не хуже, чем 1994-ый (попробуйте послушать их тандемом или вперемешку - они жутко похожи на самом деле

Подтверждаю - они реально похожи. Оттого WPB мне нравится не меньше.

Ломбардо более агрессивен и прямолинеен, хотя в то же время его игра больше завораживала.
Бостаф не менее профессионален, но стиль его немного другой.
Хотя в Убивцев он вписывался всегда "на отлично".
Если не он, то сложно представить кто мог бы заменить Дейва так же качественно в плане исполнения.
Но вот в плане присутствия никто не может заступить на место Ломбардо.

Да блин, я грубо, конечно, выразился, но как вспомню его игру на двух последних альбомах, то аж дрожь берёт. В 06-м прямо слышно как щепки летят, а в 2009-м неудачная попытка сыграть разнообразнее, что вылилось, в итоге, в невнятное колокотание ("Public Display of Dismemberment" вообще тихий ужас). К классическим-то работам претензий нет, но там и материал более прямолинейный. А вот Бостаф отжигал на всех трёх альбомах, только там впечатление скомкано, но в том он уже не виноват.
