Конечно, материал не в духе того, чем проект прославился, но "The Fright" и "The Light" Фенриз уже выпускал под этой вывеской, на EP "Traditional Doom Cult". А "Slash At The Sun" он реализовывал в рамках Valhall на "Vulture Trace Time".

Fenriz has definitely adopted Heavy Metal/Rock/Doom Metal here instead of old and good Black/Folk Metal. Mercyful Fate, Black Sabbath and tons more of old school stuff worship.

Interesting and cult as usual with Fenriz. It's great to hear third album by Isengard, but I prefer early releases. Note that Isengard has started as a Death Metal band, then became Black/Folk. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile3.gif)

Послушал ещё раз. Не, оно определенно прикольно, только мне кажется, что Фенриз записывал данный материал не в Isengard, это какой-то сборник, довольно сырой, различных идей его, от метал-панка до хэви/дума и олдскульного спид-метала. Я вряд ли буду к нему возвращаться, но то время, что я потратил, я конечно не пожалел.

Pretty sure these songs were never intended to be released under Isengard monicker. And it totally looks like someone (be it Fenriz himself or maybe just Peaceville) marketing it as Isengard intentionally to grab some cash from "Isengard-fanboys", not only releasing those Valhall demos as Isengard (11 years ago he released some doom/heavy songs of the same kind under "Fenriz Red Planet" name and THAT was fine and honest), but even used Høstmørke-like photo (maybe from the same photo-session) on the cover and (paranoid mode: on) named this album in Norwegian while all songs were sung in English.

Anyway, it's still Fenriz, he's obviously gifted musician, so even weakest and most useless of his demos will sound much better than many seriously crafted works of today (IMG:style_emoticons/default/crazy.gif)

It may be a marketing, but I'm even not sure if ''Isengard-fanboys'' is a proper term. It was a personal project of Fenriz and once in an old interview he has called it ''his private war against Christ''. Fenriz has never made Isengard to be commercial and in 90s Isengard was in the shadow of Darkthrone. I doubt that many followers of nowadays ''scene'' even heard Isengard...
