Shining supposedly disbanded in August 2004 and reformed at the end of that year.

The band's name does not refer to the book The Shining or the film based on it, but rather according to Niklas Kvarforth, it means "the path to enlightenment".

All Shining full-length albums have six songs, and usually have roman numbers preceding the album titles in chronological order.

Not to be confused with band from Poland & Avant-Garde/Jazz/Black Metal band from Norway.

Все-таки насколько же гениальнейшая группа. Каждый ее альбом - это подлинное событие для ценителей и любителей настоящей музыки. Практически каждая песня - это сладостный оргазм, ментальное удовольствие высшего порядка. Все таки Кварфорт действительн оталантище. Второе десятилетие тащить группу и оставаться безумно интересным - это свыше.

I`m now givin` it a first listen. Before you threw a link to it, I has listened to the new Decline Of I, but couldn`t fukking resist a temptation, now listening. Less poppy than 7, but as usual EXCELLENT! A week to wait for its leaking. Not as dark as Kvarforth said but it was predictable. He always promises the most (ugly, etc stuff) but it came out to be really experimental in a way. Now with sax it reminds me of DO. Han Som Hatar Mдnniskan is a true copy of Fortvivlan. Greast album btw. NEW Shining EVERY year! It`s also very convinient to read Kva`s notes about every new song!

Refreshin` stuff! Thnxone more time!
