В июле 2003 года группа Immortal объявили о прекращении деятельности по личным причинам. Abbath решил в свой творческий отпуск замутить что-нибудь экспериментальное и собрал вполне себе all-stars (по меркам норвежской сцены) проект: Arve Isdal из Enslaved - гитара, King ov Hell - бас и где-то откопал драммера Armagedda (того самого, что барабанил на дебюте Бессмертных). Проект он назвал эгоистично и амбициозно одновременно: I.

Музыка представляет собой что-то вроде blackened heavy metal, причем песни варьируются от чуть ли не моторхэдовщины (открывашка The Storm I Ride) до более эпичных, навеянных (как мне кажется) творчеством Квортона, треков вроде Between Two Worlds, Mountains, Far Beyond the Quiet. Эти три вещи-то как раз на альбоме лучше всего и удались. А ещё на них узнаётся поздний (времён Аббата композитора и гитариста) Immortal (что не удивительно, учитывая, кто их сочинял), только облёгчённый (даже на фоне Sons of Nothern Darkness), с практически нивелированной экстремальной составляющей.

9/12. Как для разового эксперимента - очень хороший альбом, с тремя отличными песнями и слушабельными остальными пятью.

По мне так альбом одной композиции - Far Beyond the Quiet (IMG:style_emoticons/default/pray.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/pray.gif)
Остальное лишь для фона неплохо.
Сольник Абат-Абат к счастью, гораздо интереснее.

Как по мне, альбом даже круче, чем его описал Экз. Я бы лично ему поставил 10/12, с претензией на 11/12. И уж точно сольник 2016-го года, хотя я его и умеренно котирую, с ним и рядом не валялся.
