Скачал этот альбом,познакомиться с группой решил.После прослушки купил лицензию.Можно смело говорить ,что очень профессиональная работа.Запись хороша,каждый инструмент слышен.Бас гитара тут рулит ,отлично прописана.Про ударные можно лишь сказать - Hellhammer за установкой.
p.s. 2007 год этой группы мне не понравился,позже ознакомлюсь с другими альбомами.

Начальный рифф почти такой же, только подзатянутей у Норвегов. Совпадение скорее всего. Влияние всё-таки огромнейшее на сцену, так что это нормально же.
Мне, если честно из Даймонда много где мерещится. Просто, похожие моменты. Иногда очень похожие.

Очень хороший альбом!!! Особенно нравится звучание!!! Всех инструментов. Только это не Black Metal, это Death Metal с индивидуальными особенностями. Следующий альбом похож по звучанию, но там аранжировка - просто гипертрофированная глухота, хотя если поработать эквалайзером, то можно услышать, что звук там еще монолитней, чем на Chimera.

Я себе этот альбом в CD (digi-pack) от СD-Maximum приобрёл. Особенно понравилось оформление, и подробное описание барабанной установки Хеллхаммера на этом албоме (хоть я и не разбираюсь, но всё равно интересно).

Релиз прошел проверку временем. Лично для меня - это один из первых купленных black-metal дисков в возрасте лет этак семнадцати, и это были не домашние "черные коллекции". И в итоге ох как сильно повлиял на мой вкус, т.к. его содержание на тот момент достаточно сильно отличалось от привычной трухи, его хотелось слушать снова и снова. Думаю, за все эти годы альбом открылся разными гранями. Конечно, не стану сильно захваливать... Но, прошло более десяти лет, пластинка звучит, пластинка доставляет. Я знаю каждый риф здесь, каждый треки звучит как нечто знакомое, как сущность, прошедшая за мной тенью все эти годы. Приятное чувство ностальгии, вместе с тем не самое приятное "ощущение времени". Это "мой альбом", если понимаете, о чем я...

А мне очень понравилась идея Froze. Нет, конечно, если разложить все звучание по полочкам, то это блэк. Бластбиты в наличии, гитарное звучание блэкушное, ритм, вокал… Но сам подход удивил, он напоминает прог-дэтовые пластинки. Слишком уж навороченное звучание. Взять Dark Night of the Soul: столько там всего включено за пять минут – и смены ритма, и гитарного звучания, и мелодии тасуются, как карты в колоде. Или медленное гитарное соло на пятой минуте Rape Humanity With Pride с последующей вокальной партией в духе хорала? Или перекличка баса и гитары в середине Slaughter of Dreams? Красотища! Пиршество духа! Пища для ума! У меня после первого прослушивания возникла мысль: побольше бы таких альбомов, глядишь, и к БМ я бы стал лучше относиться. Потом понял: не надо, к чему девальвация ценностей?

It is one of those albums that you have to listen to many, many times.
After first couple of times, it becomes good. But after numerous times, it becomes great, a masterpiece of music!

Even though the entire album is very brutal and hateful, every song is still different and unique and recognizable. It makes it impossible to even pick a personal favorite song on this album.

The lyrics are also excellent and very hateful and trippy. Some of the highlights when it comes to lyrics would be this:
This is all but falseness
You Have Nothing, You Are Nothing
I Shall Reveal Your Truth
I Am the Ghoul You Fear
I Am the Psychic Truth
I Was There When Satan Went!

or this:
I Close My Eyes to the World
Kiss My Skinless Corpus
Make Me Revel in Your Weak Souls
Make Me Feast on Your Nightmares!

or this:
Inside a Mind so Deranged
How I Wish You All Were Dead
Annoying Humanity Sickens Me
I Contemplate Your Extinction

In my opinion, Chimera is one of the best Mayhem albums. It's true darkness and blackness and misanthropy.

Имеется на коробочном издании от CD-Maximum, с буклетом, их рожами, картинки с отрубленной свинячьей башкой, все дела. Кстати там же есть подробная раскладка ударной установки (барабаны, тарелки), но которой барабанит Хэллхамер. Не кислый комплект я скажу, если кому интересно могу скинуть фото.

Собственно, переслушал сегодня бездарный, по зрелому размышлению, Esoteric Warfare, а вслед за ним - загубленный DMDS и постулирую:

Бласфемер - бох, Телох - лoх*

Маньяк - няша, Аттила - говняша.

Yes, the more you listen to it the better it gets.

There a moments of such furious intensity and the riff layers are mind blowing. Soo Mussorgsky, riff upon riff, each bigger and darker.. amazing...

It is also in my opinion one of the greatest drumming performances i have ever heard, it is titanic, huge, its fucking brilliant!

For me this is the best Mayhem album by far, pure Mayhem. A masterpiece.

Пожалуй, последний великий альбом группы. С одной стороны, достаточно технично сыграно, и записано чисто, но работа всё равно остаётся блэком как по стилю, так по духу. Я сказал бы, что атмосферой вполне походит на ДМДС, причём эффектнее звучит, чем намеренная попытка воссоздать тот альбом в 2019-м. "Демон" в итоге не прошёл проверку временем, а вот "Химера" запомнилась хорошо и заставляет к себе возвращаться. Материал брутальный, в то же время с обилием интересных ходов. Глотка Маньяка, хоть и мальца растеряла свою мощь, всё так же добавляет яду. В общем, отличный опус.
