"Based out of Portland, Oregon, Aldrlag is a Heathen musical project fusing strong elements of both black metal and neofolk. In general, the black metal music scene has painted itself into an artistic corner, and amidst so many bland, mediocre bands, Aldrlag will offer a pleasant surprise to even the most jaded listener. Those who have followed this scene over the last decade or longer will understand that this is certainly no small feat unto itself! Their music resonates with a sincerity and raw emotional intensity which seems relatively scarce amidst the glut of substandard recordings which have emerged in the wake of this genre's subcultural popularization. There are notable influences reminiscent of the fierce grandeur of Burzum and Graveland, which captures much of the intensity of their early recordings, yet in many ways Aldrlag also seem to be honing their own distinctly atmospheric sound. Their lyrical content also presented a pleasant surprise in that they have incorporated an Ezra Pound poem into one of their songs. Their music is epic, melancholic and grandiose, effortlessly shifting between brooding, earthy acoustic melodies and majestic, bombastic black metal segments. By far, the most promising band to emerge from the black metal scene in many years. Highly Recommended."

Я так понял, что это т.н. Cascadian BM, что уже означает определёННый уровень атмосферы.

Приятная дэмка, иногда акустика очень напоминает что - то из разряда Negura Bunget ну и само звучание гитар - представителей CBM.

Самая фишка с вокалом была в треке "Bragi", там когда чистоган появился, аж мурашки по коже пошли, очень в тему, я считаю. Если чуть больше это включить в музыку, то выйдет достаточно эффектно.

Несмотря на пугающее (меня) сочетание тегов ничуть не жалею что скачал. Очень сбалансированный материал, все переходы от акустики к "мясу" и от думовых моментов к более блэковым ровные и "оправданные". Хороший нескучный альбом.
PS Про Cascadian BM первый раз слышу, ужо полуркал на lastfm. Спасибо HA7tur за расширение теорет.части)

Да, вот наконец-то добрался до этой демки, должен сказать, что не разочарован. Разве что качеством записи, уж больно вздернуто ударные звучат, даже ритм-секцию порой заглушают (и даже вокал!). Вокал, кстати, неразборчивый (высоковатый на мой вкус, но к месту), хорошо, что на майспэйсе тексты есть.
Кстати, Негуру и я тоже вспомнил, особенно когда началась горловая распевка в Bragi. Было бы лучше ее вывести чуть вперед, над гитарами поставить, ну и расширить область ее применения, это да. Структурно композиции представляют собой довольно простенькие комбинации из немногоаккордных структур в двух-трех чередующихся тональностях и мерного барабанного ритма (без бластбитов, равно как и без соло, разве что сквозных, впрочем и они очень редки). Темп — не варьирующийся, что-то среднее между мид и слоу, причем как акустические части, так и непосредственно блэковые. Треки довольно объемистые, поэтому для разнообразия они иногда разбавляются тремоло поверх основной мелодии, довольно эффективный прием. Ритм, собственно, монолитен и никакого разрыва темпа или основной композиции нет. Кстати, я ожидал фолка, но его тоже нет, если не считать акустические проигрыши, которые просто не могли не напоминать Agalloch (ну это естественно, кстати, партия с чистым вокалом на акустике в четвертом треке меня дико обрадовала). Самая, пожалуй, большая радость это отсутствие клавишных. Нет, я люблю клавиши в музыке, но в последнее время они стали эдаким вариантом для бедных, желающих сыграть атмосферный блэк, но не знающих, как это сделать, используя инструментальный минимум. Здесь с атмосферой все в порядке (Каскадия же), это точно.
В общем и целом отличная демка111 Мне больше всего понравился трек номер пять, в том числе и потому что в нем не так много ударов по тарелкам, запись которых все же слабая часть работы (ну, я уже говорил). Короче, придраться особо не к чему (объективно). Весчь!

Послушал на три раза. В целом все очень даже хорошо, только тяжеловато получается как-то, не дает улететь в атмосферу. Этакий прибитый к земле атмосферик. Подобные ощущения у меня после сладжа возникают... Кто знает, может фоновые клавиши как раз и придали бы некой воздушности. Там где чистоголосье - да, оторвались от земли и полетели, доставило. А так даже акустика какая-то грузная получилась. Итог для меня - отлично, но под настроение, как весь сладж.
