"Tory Punching Music came about during the demoing/preproduction of Tyrannus' second album. At the time, I was writing and recording demos at home but was looking for someone to help me mix and master them. Magicide has been a good friend over the last couple of years and we bonded over our mutual love for music and Magic the Gathering.
Throughout 2023, Magicide would send me clips of tracks he was working on and I was always impressed by his unique takes on blending industrial and EDM beats with metal, to the point where I wanted to use the platform Tyrannus has built to debut his work, including adding vocals to the title track.
Bricks & Flesh was the first full song written after Unslayable and shows one of the directions Tyrannus are going in for our next album. The lyrics mix medieval fantasy imagery with the real threat of police corruption and brutality.
The artwork was commissioned to Conor McConville, a brilliant Scottish artist who smartly weaved Tyrannus' imagery into a much different and more colourful visual to what we have had before, with a not so subtle nod to our feelings on the last few decades of destruction of the UK by the Conservative Party and it's leaders."
